    Ravenclaw Table Empty Ravenclaw Table

Post by Guest Mon 16 Aug 2010, 07:34

Ravenclaw's table sat proudly amongst the other houses the bronze and blue banners flying high over head. Students were gathered on the seats, eating and chatting away merrily. What a grand day at Hogwarts.

lyra had chosen a seat at the end of the table, closest to the door. She had spent the past ten minutes trying to memorize all the details of the great hall. She was entranced by the ceiling emulating the sky outside, it was fascinating to say the least. After that she had decided to agree to her stomachs demands for food and she reached for a macaroni cheese dish, more than slightly sad that she couldn't locate a pasta carbonara. She sat there quietly, taking small bites of her dish, her mind going into overdrive as she imagined what would be going on at home, wondering if cleo was ok, thinking of how she could do her hair the next day and what the lessons were going to be like

Reine could't believe her luck, after hearing about all the houses on the train, and the Ravenclaw's were known as the smartest house in the school, this was the house she wanted to be in. she was happy, to say the least. Reine skipped to the Ravenclaw table, sitting down she started to notice the other members of her house, some faces she recognised from both the Train and the Leaky Cauldron... this place looks like something out of a fairy tale. look at the roof, just like the night sky Reine was amazed. she could never have imagined something like this in her wildest dreams. Wow! Reine looked to her left to see another girl sitting next to her.

    'Hi i'm Reine'

lyra looked up from her plate of macaroni when she heard a girl's voice from her right. She looled up and shifted slightly in her seat so she was facing the girl who had spoken. She had introduced herself as Reine

"hello. I'm lyra" she said, quietly and politely. The girl looked rather satisfied so lyra assumed that she had wanted to be in ravenclaw

After hearing a reply from the girl who called herself Lyra, Reine did not wait to dig in to the food that had suddenly appeared in front of her. 'Wow' she whispered, pulling some chicken, carrot and potato. then began to eat, hoping she was not being rude.

'This is the best food i've ever tasted' Reine mumbled in a very unladylike fashion while eating in a unladylike fashion. after realising how she was eating she change the way she ate her food.

lyra returned to her macaroni, savouring the taste. There was just enough cheese and the sauce, everything was perfect actually. She made a note to herself to somehow try thank the chef. When the Reine girl spoke lyra had to laugh softly before nodding her head in agreement

"it is really good" she said, contemplating her forkful of macaroni before she popped it in her mouth

When Will watched the first years get sorted, the only thing that plagued his mind was food. He hadn't eaten anything on the train except for treats and he was hungering for some kidney and steak pie. No, he wanted fried chicken...scratch that, he wanted some of that green bean casserole that was spinning deliciously inside his imagination.

Too many firsties! Was what Will was crying out into his mind. Couldn't the Sorting Hat just take a few seconds per student instead of minutes? It was nearly an hour before the last student was sorted.

When the food finally magically appeared, Will immediately dug in, taking anything he can reach with his spoon and then some. Merlin, he missed Hogwarts feasts.

lyra paused in her eating, placing her fork down on her plate, and reached for her goblet, taking a sip of pumpkin juice. She was rather fond of pumpkin juice. Once she had finished taking her drink she decided to try and see exactly who she knew at the ravenclaw table. There was Reine beside her of course. Lyra could see dominic and smiled, at least one of her new friends was with her. She saw calum sitting further, yet another friend. Then there was the girl she had spoken to in the leaky cauldron, harmony. There were other students there that she didn't know though and lyra felt the shy part of her nature taking over as she ducked her head down and resumed eating

Reina shook her head watching Will eat. "You do realize if that if you stick that spoon any further down your throat you'll either vomit or it will get stuck, right?" She took a bite of steak and looked down the table toward the first years. Ravenclaw didn't seem to have as many first years as the other houses, which made sense in a way, since they had so many students the previous year. Doesn't matter, we're still going to win the House cup again. She grinned to herself, taking another bite.

lyra finished her macaroni and took yet another drink from her goblet of pumpkin juice. Now that she had discovered who was in her house that she recognized, she had to find the other's. She had been too deep in thought to pay attention when they had been sorted. She scanned the hall and immediatly noticed holly, nallessa and wyatt. They were all sitting together at the hufflepuff table. Lyra looked to the slytherin table and smiled brightly when she saw amora. She'd gotten where she had wanted then, and lyra was happy for her. There was only one other person lyra needed to find, and she was struggling with that task

"where could she be?" she questioned under her breath as she scanned the different tables

Cass had stolen a glance to the Hufflepuff table to see if Dixie was interested in taking some of the Casserole tonight- although she'd have to warn her to watch out for talons this time.

Humouring herself, Cass took a look at all of the splendid foods on offer. Like usual, her eyes landed on one bland looking bowl, and they lit brightly.
"Cauliflower Pureé, I really love you," she sang to herself.
If she was being honest, CP was almost as much of a legacy to her than Bradley ever was. That cheered her immensely.

The tables were now evened out and Cass was glad that this year there wasn't so many Ravens. Maybe the Quidditch Tournament could go ahead after all, if there were Firsties involved, of course.

    Cass dug in.

lyra eventually spotted alexandria at the gryffindor table. She was in good company with dominic's friend jasmeet. Lyra suddenly heard a voice singing. She looked round and immediatly spotted a girl at the same table as her. She was looking at a bowl of something that lyra didn't recognize. The girl had sang that it was cauliflower puree and that she loved it. Lyra had never heard of cauliflower puree

Vladona peered around the magnificent Ravenclaw table, and couldn't help overhearing conversation. She was happy that Ravenclaw won the house cup last term and she had hoped that she could help them win it again.

"Hello," she said to no one in particular. "I'm a new Ravenclaw. Everything seems so new and exciting here. I really can't wait for classes to start." She started to poke at her potatoes. Somehow, all the excitement seemed to almost kill her appetite.

Having scoffed half of the tureen down, Cass turned to her neighbours and tried to remember her manners.
"You fine people want any?" She saw a dark haired fourth year girl turn her nose at her and laugh, flicking her hair behind her shoulder. "Anyone? Before I devour it all?"

Cass nodded at the new Raven; everything always was exciting in a school like this. She only hoped she didn't transfer to Durmy or Beau, 'cus from what she heard, things were dead boring. Hopefully the new girl would be excited when she entered her first class.

Alex was sitting diagnolly acorss from Cass she chikcled and shook her head at her friend. "good to see your love for cauliflower puree has not changed over the summer" she said smiling at her friend. "by the way how's bradley I haven't had a chance to see my favourite little frog yet?" she said shoving another mouthful of food in her mouth.

"I am shocked you could expect such a thing to change, my dear Raven. My teeth may fall out, and I might have grown by the size of a lady bird, but the passions of life will never change, I swear!" Cass held the tureen further out to Alex, and then left it in the middle of the table.
"Bradley's either under my feet, or he's ran off somewhere. But he's a good little froggie woggie; he's not going to get on the table or anything. I think he'll end up taking a trek to the Whomping Willow, anyway. He got pretty attatched to the place, having to live there all last year and all," she said, guessing.

    Apple crumble was next.

She laughed at Cass she had forgoten how her friend was and she was glad to be back. "ah yes did your good little froggie woggie go on your little adventuer with you?" she smiled refering to the one they had discussed on the train. She was in a much better mood after having that convesation it had made her feel better thoguh she was yet to tell Cass about her own summer. She would tell her later too many ear listening at the moment.

Rebecca was really nervous. She was extreamly pleased that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw, because from what she had heard, it was easily the one for the brains. That was good, at least. She was staring at the cealing, loving it.

She started to listen in on some other people's conversation. Plucking
up all of her courage (which wasn't alot) she turned to the person beside her and said, "hi, I'm Rebecca Mcmurdo."

"'llo, 'becca," said Cass brightly. Obviously in the excitement Rebecca had forgotten Cass had met her at the Leaky Cauldron. "You want me to pass you anything? This cauliflower pureé is really delish. Honest. I'm really honest. I wouldn't say so, otherwise."

Cass got herself a ladle full of Apple Crumble and plonked it down on her dessert plate. She shrugged when there was no custard and tucked in.

At the high table were all of the teachers and the new DADA teacher, Professor Anderson. She hoped he wouldn't go mad with the power.

"Oh, yeah, hi, Cass," Rebecca gave a slight chuckle. "I think I must be going mad - I hardly recoginse anyone I've met, and I'm too shy to talk to anyone." Rebecca did as Cass suggested, and got some of the cauliflower pureé. It really was nice.

"So, who are all of the teachers?" Rebecca asked, interested. "It's going to take me forever to remember all of their names..."

lyra had been sitting silently observing the conversation going on. When a girl introduced herself as rebecca, lyra guessed that she was a first year like herself. She leaned close to them and, finally, plucked up the courage to speak

"theresa and mary told me about some of the teachers. I was told to behave in professor malfoy's class and that the head of hufflepuff is the astronomy teacher" lyra said, looking to rebecca

"Ahh," Rebecca smiled, thanking Lyra. She was still trying to get used to things - one of them being that people talked to her! She'd had the reputation of a know-it-all in her muggle school, and as things seemed to go wrong around her (later discovered to be accidental magic) most people stayed away.

Rebecca dugged into the steak pie, feeling happier than she ever had in her entire life. She tried to think of an interesting conversation to come up with, but failed.

Shannon Granger walked in and sat alone and sighed.
Great. I have to repeate first year. She put her head in her hands and stared down at the polished wood table. The light reflected off hurt her eyes and forced her to look else where.
She wondered how her grandmother was doing. Her and her great aunt and uncle. Shannon hoped they were doing ok with out her.

"do you have family who've been to hogwarts?" lyra asked, highly interested in this girl. She hadn't met her in diagon alley, nor had she met her on the train. Perhaps they could be friends. First lyra would need to know more about her though than just her name.

"what classes are you taking?" she asked, wondering if they would be in the same classes. They were in the same house after all

"No," Rebecca answered, shaking her head. "I'm a muggleborn, and a confused one at that," Rebecca laughed. "As for classes - I just got the books for all. I have no idea what goes around here."

She looked and saw a new girl at the table. "Hello," she said to her. "I'm Rebecca, are you a first year?"
