It had been a long two day's with studying and classes and everything else. Alex was bored sitting inside by herself so she had walked to the edge of the lake and sat down. She opened her transfiguration book to the right place and began to read again. She couldn't be bothered studting anymore and that was another reason she had come o the lake something interesting might happen. Well more interesting than the library.

Theresa skipped out of the castle for some fresh air. She had been studying most of her subjects and needed a small break. She skipped over to the lake, hoping to relax by the calming water. She saw a girl already by the lake and smiled when she saw that it was Alexandra.
"Hey Alexandra!" she called as she waved to the girl.

Alexandra had given up studying she had been going over transfiguration all day and still felt like their were gaps in her knowlage. She flicked back to the front and began going over incantations when she heard a familar voice behind her. Alex turned round to see Theresa. "hi Theresa" she greeted her. "how are you and how's the stuyding going" she asked her putting her book to one side.

Theresa sat down at the edge of the lake and leaned back onto the palms on her hands. "Apart from being major stressed, I am fine, what about you?" she asked.
"Some subects are better then others at the moment with my studying, I did have some help in the library which was great, how is your studying coming?" she asked curiously.

"pretty well apart from transfiguration" she sighed. "Herbology, potion, astronamy and history of magic are all going well. I thik I might just pass defense but it will be amazing if I pass transgirguration. I'm starting to get really streesed. No matter how many times I revise it or read the textbook and look over my notes i always feel their are massive gaps in my knowlage" she said to her. "though i can't focus too well at the moment so that might explain it" she added

Theresa nodded "I was having trouble with Transfigurations the other day, nothing seemed to work and I couldn't understand it, is it the theory behind the magic or the actual magic you are having problems with?" she asked curiously.

"At least we only have to pass two subjects though, even though it would be good to get a good grade in Transfigurations, it is an important subject" she said, thoughtfully.

"it' the theroy i'm having trouble with and rembering the incantations and wand movements" she sighed. "I hope I pass my two classes I don't know why but I feel like i'm going to fail everything. If I pass too I won't care how I do on transfiguration. I agree with you though it's an important subject. Which reminds me can we take a class next year we didn't take this year?" she asked her.

Theresa shrugged "I am not sure, we might be able to, there is nothing so far that tells us that we cant but think there would be a lot of work, you would have to catch up with everything you missed in first year" she said.
"Maybe it would help if in stead of just reading, you practised, surely, you will remember more by doing then reading" she said.

"yes I suppose you were right. I wasn't really thinking when I chose my subjects" she said to her. "I've tried transfiguring a few things already the go not bad but I can't remebr the incantation or wand movements or the theroy of the spell atall." she told the hufflepuff. "I can't do it unless I have just read the pages of the theroy. I don't know why but it just won't stick in my head. My concentration is great at the moment so that might make some sense.

Theresa nodded "alright, how about you try it now, pretend you have your wand and when I shout out a spell, you have to do the wand movement, it will be hard at first but it goes in a pattern so your brain gets use to it" she said.
"It use to work when I needed it, would you like to give it a go?" she asked.

Alex thought about Resa's suggestion it did seem quiet clever and if it had worked for her then why wouldn't it work for Alex? "yeah lets give it a go their no harm in trying" she said. "give me a few minutes to look over the spells and movemnets and stuff" she said to her before picking up her book and quickly located the information that she would need if this was going to work. "ok, let's give it a go" she said hopeig it would work she was starting to get desprete.

Theresa nodded "ok, this will start off slow and then get faster, there will be a patern, I will ay what the spell does and you have to start with te incantation only" she said, trying to remember how her father use to start the method.

"Lets start with... trying to turn a match into a needle" she said, saying the last bit faster.

"so incatation only" she repeted what Resa had said. "the incantation for match into needle is" she paused thinking back to her notes, textbook and first ever class. "immuto" she said trying hard to remember the other word. Actus? she thought actes? no they were both worng but it starts with an A. "acus" she said finally. "that's right isn't it?" she asked her.

Theresa smiled cheerfully and nodded. "Yes, nice one" she said happily before thinking again. She needed to put these spells in a pattern as she said them, the same way her father did when she was younger.

"Incantation only, why dont you try... changing a snail into a thimble" she said.

Alex smiled happily she must be improving slightly. "right snail to thimble" she mutered. "snail to thimble" she thought long and hard bitting her bottom lip. "inanimus" she thought for a moment "is it rana?" she asked. She was certain that the spell was inanimus somthing but rana was the only one she could remember and she was sure their were two if not three spells they had learned. that started with inanmius.

Theresa looked into her bag, at her notes and nodded "yes that seems right" she said. She smiled as she looked back at her "okay, now pretend you are holding your wand and that you are doing the first spell you had said" she said. She remembered that the idea here was to see if she could remember what the both of them had said and the wand movement she had read before that.

"the wand movement for the match to eedle?" she asked her a little usure about what she meant. She thought about it hard. How would she move her wand to change the mtch to a needle. It was a circle and a flick she was sure "is it a anti-clockwise circle and a flick at the end?" she asked Theresa a stil a little confused.
