    Pumpkin Patch Empty Pumpkin Patch

Post by Guest Sat 24 Jul 2010, 13:29

Theresa walked to the lake but stopped, she always went to the lake. She thought about where else she could go and desided that she had only been around Hagrid's hut once or twice. She skipped over to the hut and looked in, she was disapointed to see that he wasnt there but hopped to the pumpkin patch. She was shocked at how much they had grown and wondered if they could actually get any better. Her father's letter about her stupid mother was still fresh in her mind so she needed to distract herself.

Shelby was coming back from a walk around the grounds when she saw Theresa flounce over to the pumpkin patch. "Hey Resa," Shelby greeted her, making her way toward her friend. "What's this I hear you've been gossiping about Indiana with Hilary?" she asked teasingly. "And why aren't you by the lake? We always go to the lake."

Theresa laughed "hi Shelby, no I havent been gossiping about Indiana, I was just talking about that lovely letter about daggers" she said. She thought for a moment "not sure, we are always at the lake, thought I would try something new even though the lake has some how become are traditional meeting place" she joked. "I was actually talking to Hilary about that, when ever one of us wants to meet up then they just go straight to the lake and one of us is going to be there yet no one has actually mentioned that that is our meeting place" she mused.

"Resa, you can't just go around talking about the letter. Someone might hear you and get the wrong idea," Shelby said. "Besides, he isn't actually carrying any, he told me so himself. And I thought that we go to the lake because then there's the possibility of swimming. I suppose we could think of an official meeting spot somewhere else where a few less students go," she mused. "That way there's less of a chance of us being overhead when we talk and play truth or dare and stuff."

"I was in the tower, how did you even find out, Hilary told on me didn't she?" Theresa asked, pouting. "I guess we could go to the lake, as Hilary pointed out, we started meeting there right after our first real adventure, just the four of us and that thing that was in the lake, back when we hardly even knew each other, at least, I barely knew Hilary and deifnitely didn't know you or Lauren, it's weird to think that it wasnt that long ago" she said.

"It's a little weird," Shelby agreed. "But all friendships have to start somewhere. For us, that was squid hunting in the lake and you guys rescuing me from almost drowning. Well, that was when our friendship started," she indicated to herself and Resa. "I met Lauren on the train and I had already known Hilary a little from being in the same house as her. But as a group, I'd say that was the start of our friendship," Shelby grinned.

Theresa pretended to sigh "I supose we have to go to the lake now then, for tradition, tradition of you thinking that the creature is far more important then your life which led to our group friendship" she joked. "And I thought Lauren was the tiny brain but hey, at least your tiny brained ideas equaled to great things" she teased.

Shelby rolled her eyes and laughed. "Yes, thanks to the one time that I thought like Lauren instead of myself, we found out that something else lives in the lake besides the giant squid. And we found out that the squid is a boy who cannot get cooties, thanks to me," she giggled. "Indiana thinks that there might be a giant octopus in there. If there is, that could be what we saw."

Theresa laughed "a giant octopus, aw now I want to go in there and see it again even more" she said. "let's go to the lake, it will be a memory of it" she said, pretending to wipe a fake tear away from her eye. She thought for s moment and grinned "unless you want to tell me what Hilary wrote in that letter?" she asked, trying to weasel answers out of her friend.

"Resa," Shelby shook her head. "And you call Lauren 'tiny brain.' Resa, when are you going to realize that I'm not going to tell you what Hilary's note said? It wouldn't help you anyway, because I sent her my own idea back and we're going with my plan, so you're not even trying to find out the right information," Shelby raised an eyebrow as she looked at Theresa.

Theresa stuck her tongue out at her "no fair, couldnt you just forget all of this and tell me what you said to Hilary and I am not tiny brained" she said. She crossed her arms "and I am suppose to be stubborn, you are more then me" she said teasingly, even though she really wanted to know about it. Even if her mother's plans worked, she still wanted to know.

"You'll find out soon enough, I imagine," Shelby said cryptically, looking at Resa out of the corner of her eye as she faced one of the enormous pumpkins in Hagrid's garden. Some were so big that Shelby was sure she could fit inside of them. "I wonder what kind of charm Hagrid puts on the pumpkins to get them to be so big," she said.

Theresa raised an eyebrow, wondering if she should be suspisious, scared or even both. "I think I am going to hide out in the Hufflepuff common room for the next week or two" she muttered before turning to the pumpkins. "There is prbably some type of repeling charm to stop things from eating them but I am not sure about how he made them so big, it is unatural though" she said.

"Maybe it's an engorgement charm," Shelby said thoughtfully. "And hiding out in the Hufflepuff common room won't do you any good. If you do that, then we're going to forge ahead with Plan B and trust me when I say that you would absolutely hate Plan B," Shelby tore her gaze away from the pumpkins to see how Theresa would react to knowing that there was a back-up plan.

"Two plans, well how could you possibly get me out of the common room to do either so ha" she said triumphantly. Taking Shelby's words as a challange, she could easily avoid them by hiding in the Hufflepuff common room and she wasnt anywhere near them in lessons so that would make things easier.

Shelby looked over at Theresa slyly. "I didn't say that we needed you for the second one," she said with a grin. It was true. Resa could lock herself in the Hufflepuff common room for three months and it would have no effect on Plan B. "Face it Resa, you're not going to be able to stop us!" she gave her very best evil sounding laugh.

Theresa turned red, wondering if plan B was for them to just tell Rain with her or without her. She sighed "fine but will you hurry up with plan A, the stress is getting to me" she said as she took a sugar stick out of her bag. "I swear, you, Lauren and Hilary combined could rule the whole wizarding world if you worked together, your brains, Lauren's slyness and Hilary's intention to detail, the wizarding world would be at youe mercy" she joked, half meaning it. She smiled as she looked back at Shelby "you just need to work on your evil laugh, with that thing you just did, no one would be able to take you seriously as an evil ruler" she teased.

"Well then, it's a good thing that I'm not really evil," Shelby said in her 'sweet' voice. It was the voice that she used on her dad whenever she wanted something and the voice that she used on her mother whenever she needed to convince her that whatever was broken was her brother Max's fault. Even though she wasn't trying to get anything from Theresa or convince her of anything, she enjoyed how innocent it made her sound. "Alright, well I need to go do some homework. I'll see you later," Shelby said with a wave before leaving to go back up to her common room.

(OOC: I am exhausted! I'm going to sleep, tell Lauren I say hi if she gets on later.)
