The lake, the grass, the sun Empty The lake, the grass, the sun

Jasmeet sat on the grass, looking towards the lake. She breathed in the fresh air, as the sun radiated off her. Her hands were on either side of her, supporting her, whilst her legs were crossed. Her hair fell down past her shoulders, flowing in the soft breeze. Laying beside her was a small book, Memories of a Lifetime, it read.

Picking up her right hand, she brushed away some of the hair from her eyes. Sliding the other arm across the grass, she lay back, linking her hands behind her head as she did so.

Lauren was wandering around the lake when she spotted her friend Jasmeet relaxing by the water. She made her way over there, for she hadn't spoken to Jasmeet in a long while, not since Nick Hale, anyway.

"Hey," Lauren said to the relaxing girl. "How are you?" She asked, as she took a seat next to her.

Jasmeet looked up at the voice, and she smiled when she registered who she was.

"Hey, Lauren. I'm great, just relaxing by the lake that's all. How have you been?" she asked, rising to sit cross-legged.

"How's Hogwarts treating you?," she asked again, not giving Lauren anytime to answer the other question.

Lauren smiled at the girl. "I've been great! There is so much homework now, though! It's crazy." Lauren smirked, "Thanks for throwing that ball at me in DADA too!" Lauren said, teasing.

"So, what's happening? Any news?" Lauren asked Jas, for she seemed to know a lot about the goings on in Hogwarts. Lauren leaned back against the grass, loving the feeling of the sun on her pale skin.

"Oh, that. She's been made a temporary Gryffindor by Professor Green," she smiled at the girl, and winked at her remark about the ball.

"Yeah, homework has been a nightmare, and it doesn't help that the teachers expect it by a date. No way getting out of it, you have to do it. Though I have love all the subjects so far."

Avneett exited the castle and onto the grass. Before her, the lawn was filled with students.

In the distance, she saw her second cousin sitting with another girl, she walked over. Might as well get to know her better, she thought.

"Hey Jas," she said, smiling down at the girl, she looked towards the girl that was sitting with her, a Gryffindor girl, "Hey, I'm Avneett, Jasmeet's second cousin."

Jasmeet looked up at the voice, and saw the face of Avneett. "Hey Avneett, haven't talked to you in ages. How's Hogwarts treating you?" she smiled at the girl, standing up to hug her.

I'm going to have to ask mum about Avneett's family, she thought, promising herself that she would do so when Jay returned with the reply from her mother. She was worried that her mother hadn't responded and it had been over a week.

Reina had been walking to starve off some of the frustration from her duel with Will. She saw Jas with the Gryfinndor girl from Herbology, what was her name? Lauren? And a Hufflepuff she hadn't met yet. She figured she might as well introduce herself, not an easy task for someone so shy and withdrawn like herself. "Hi, Jas." She said softly, walking over to the group. "Mind if I sit down?"

Jasmeet looked up into the face of Reina, and smiled. "Course you can sit down," she said, patting the grass beside her. Then thinking that she should introduce the other two, she said, first pointing to Lauren, "I guess you've met Lauren and this," pointing to Avneett, "is my second cousin, Avneett."

"Thanks!" Reina sat down next to Jas and smiled. "Yeah, Lauren is in some of my classes." She smiled at the Gryffinndor remembering Herbology earlier. She turned to the Hufflepuff Jas had just introduce. "Hey Avneett. What do you take for classes? I haven't seen you around really. Of course, some of the professors are splitting the classes up by houses these days. And Ravenclaws usually end up with Slytherins. "

Avneett looked at the new girl, "Hey Reina. I take all the classes," she smiled at her, "Yeah we are mostly paired with the Gryffindors. Though it's interesting to see the strengths of all the different Gryffindor students in all the different classes."

She sat herself down next to Reina and Jas, eyeing all the girls.
