'Shelby was right about the house elves.' Indiana thought as he carried a jar of wax, a jar of honey, a candlestick, and a zippo lighter. He wondered on where the house elf managed to get the last item. There were a few more items that he needed to get but that could wait.

The youth neared a very tall tree before slowly began climbing up with the items. Indiana managed to reach a very large and thick branch before hoisting himself upwards. Looking around, he found a cavity within the trunk of the tree and it was large enough to store the items he had brought up with him.

'Man, I'm beat.' Indiana thought as he decided to rest on the branch and leaned against the trunk's cavity. The day seemed relaxing and the youth pulled out a letter that he had gotten from May earlier today.

Shelby was headed out toward her favorite spot by the lake when she saw Indiana climb up one of the larger trees carrying a random assortment of items. Curious, she decided to follow him. When she reached the base of the tree, she looked up and hesitated. He was reading something and she didn't know if he would prefer to be alone. "May I join you?" she asked loudly to draw his attention down to her.

Indiana's eyes perked up from the letter before looking down and noticing Shelby.

"If you want to. I'm just getting some fresh air." Indiana replied as he took out his wand. "Are you going to climb or would you rather be levitated up here?"

He was real good with the Levitation Charm, having used it on Evangeline Rose when she fell off a tree and on Will Black in the first DADA lesson. It was a shame that Evan was exiled from Hogwarts and Indiana wondered on how she was doing right now. Of course, Indiana was also wondering if Will had suffered any ailments from eating the spoiled food at the Hufflepuff table this morning.

Shelby grinned. She had planned on climbing, but she'd never been levitated before. She wondered if it felt like you were flying and decided that now was as good a time as any to find out. "I'll take the levitation, just so long as you promise not to drop me," she said, dropping her school bag near the base of the tree.

"No problem. Don't worry, I won't let you fall. Just don't look down." Indiana replied before performing the swish and flick movement with precision. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

His aim was true and Indiana concentrated his focus on levitating Shelby, watching her slowly ascend up the tree. He just hoped that she won't lose her nerve once she reached the branch he was on.

The sensation of being levitated was unlike anything Shelby had ever felt before. It was a little like what she imagined walking on the moon would feel like combined with the feeling of being underwater. She couldn't resist glancing down at the ground as she got further away from it. "Cool," she thought. When Indiana had levitated her high enough, she grasped the branch he was sitting on and sat next to him.

"That was some impressive wandwork Mr. Lamperouge," she said with a smile. "What are you doing up here anyway? Hiding? Making evil plans?" she teased.

"Thanks." Indiana replied. Shelby was certainly a nice girl but he didn't want her to know what he was planning. If he did, she would certainly try to stop him. What he was planning wouldn't involve anyone but himself, thus he wouldn't have to worry about another person's safety as long as he operated individually. All of the responsibility would be his and he didn't want anyone else to be involved.

"Well, I wanted to get some fresh air." Indiana replied. "Oh and May sent a normal letter in response to my first coded letter. She hasn't replied to the others yet."

Shelby had a feeling that Indiana was hiding something from her and was a little disappointed that he didn't trust her, but she didn't press the issue. If he wanted her to know, he'd tell her. She kicked her legs back and forth gently through the air. "A normal letter? That's boring, doesn't she know that coded letters are all the rage these days?" she said jokingly. "Speaking of coded letters, have you found out anything about that Albion person?"

"May felt the need to be direct and straight to the point before she thinks I'll do something foolish that I might regret." Indiana replied. "No thanks to the workload from the classes, I hadn't had time to look up information on Euphemia. The surname, however, is the oldest known name of Great Britain. Other than that, nothing else."

"Anyways, check this out." Indiana spoke before showing Shelby a sheet of parchment that read:

    Dear Indiana,

Hello, little brother. I received your letters and decoded them but didn't have the chance to write back until now. Oh, do lighten up a bit and add some enthusiasm next time you write, even in code. Your letter sounded a bit robotic and I don't know whether or not you're doing well behind the apparent air of boredom!

While I can understand that concern in your letter, it would be wise to weigh the benefits and liabilities. This isn't Splinter Cell and I'm beginning to think that those games are having a bad influence on you, Mr. I-want-to-be-like-Sam-Fisher.

That package you sent in your second letter was very interesting but I think I'll leave it in your room until the break. Just remember that school is more than just an institution for education. It is also a place for you to socialize and making friends. I know that I sound like Nonette but I can't deny the validity of her points. Of course, she's right behind me now, asking me to tell you not to be a Hikikomori while at school.

Anyways, Nonette and I will definitely be staying home during the winter break. Will you be heading home during that time?

    Love,
    May

Shelby read the letter with interest, finding it a little strange that he trusted her enough to read his mail but not to tell her what he was up to. Nevertheless, she let it go. She laughed a little before saying, "She's right it was a little robotic. But what's Splinter Cell and who is Sam Fisher? And what's a Hikikomori?" she stumbled over the last word.

Indiana cleared his throat. "The advent of Muggle video games is a product of entertainment for young children. Splinter Cell is just some first-person shooter game involving a highly trained black operative named Sam Fisher going on various assignments given by his employer. He almost always carries a concealed combat dagger as a melee weapon. The Muggle video games are rather addictive."

"A Hikikomori is just some term used in Japan to describe a person that withdraws from social life for a variety of reasons." the youth continued. "Nonette is just exaggerating with the term usage but she and May want me to socialize and be a bit more outgoing."

Shelby nodded her head to indicate comprehension. She liked that she always learned something when she spent time with Indiana. "Well, now you can write them back and tell them not to worry. You can tell them all about Elise and making friends with me and Lauren and about your fierce dodgeball battle with Resa in DADA," she laughed.

Indiana smiled and nodded. He certainly had done more than just schoolwork at Hogwarts and Shelby had just pointed out a few facts to support it.

"Indeed." the youth replied. "Theresa sure pulled out all the stops and she really had me moving like never before. If Professor Hunt decided to get the class to physically exert themselves in such activity like dodge-ball, it makes wonder on what else she'll have planned for next lesson. It would have been nice if she had the class outside on the lawn and combined dodge-ball with the game Capture the Flag, though."

Even though she knew it was stupid, Shelby was jealous of the practice that Resa and Indiana had gotten in class. "The Ravenclaws are boring in there. Will Black was pretty much the only one attacking us and he got hit pretty hard and had to stop, so now I'm getting almost no actual practice. I think they're all afraid of getting bruises or something," she sighed. She didn't mean to bore Indiana with her complaints, which she almost certainly was, but she was frustrated that her classmates were so hesitant to participate in the lesson.

Indiana listened, noting the disappointment in Shelby's tone.

"They could be a bit uneasy at the thought of being subjected to Muggle treatment from Professor Hunt's first-aid medical kit." Indiana replied. "I don't know if they ever heard the phrase: no pain, no gain. But I can't blame them if they all saw Will got incapacitated and became hesitant on participating. Perhaps throwing water balloons instead of gym balls would've been better."

"If you feel like you haven't gotten the Shield Charm down, I could make some good practicing exercises if you wish." the youth offered.

"Really? That would be great," Shelby smiled. She was glad that she might get adequate practice after all. "You may be right about them being afraid of the first aid kit, although they should still be rational enough to remember that they could go to the hospital wing after class and get healed properly."

The mention of muggle healing practices got Shelby thinking. "What was it like growing up with muggles?" she asked curiously.

"Well, aside from the fact that magic and other supernatural elements exists in the magical world, there isn't too much difference between the magical and Muggle worlds." Indiana replied after pondering about the question. "People live the best that they can for the sake of living and finding both contentment and motivation for their existence."

The youth took a deep breath before continuing. "As for me, it would all seem very normal without magic and elements that conveniently defy logic. Unless I'm mistaken, it's difficult to express on what it is like for a Muggle-born such as myself to live with Muggles before ever knowing about magic, almost in the same manner as asking you on what it is like living with magical people all your life."

"I suppose that makes sense. I mean, I probably have a little bit more knowledge of muggle things than some of the other kids here who grew up in magical households because my parents are both Muggle-born, so my grandparents are all muggles. Like I know of the mythical cooties and some of the mad things muggles do, like sky diving, but I also know about Exploding Snap and Quidditch. Have you ever played Quidditch?" she asked, knowing that he probably hadn't. She wasn't even sure if he'd ever even been on a broom before.

Indiana shook his head. "I never played and I honestly don't even know how Quidditch is played. The only sports I've ever got involved on in the Muggle world were soccer and snowboarding."

The youth had some regret at not signing up for flying lessons with Professor Lewis but it didn't seem to be much of a loss. There would be other opportunities on riding a broomstick in the future.

"What about dodgeball?" Shelby asked in a teasing voice.

Even though she had been expecting him to say that he'd never played Quidditch, she was still a little surprised. "Quidditch is wonderful! I played it a lot with my parents' friends' kids back home. There are 7 players on each team- three chasers, two beaters, one keeper, and a seeker," she explained, trying to think of comparisons between Quidditch and Muggle sports that she'd learned about from her grandfather. "The chasers are kind of like basketball players. They try to score by getting the Quaffle through the other teams hoops. Each goal is worth 10 points. The keeper is like a goalie, he or she protects their teams hoops from the opposing team's chasers. The beaters have bats and hit the bludgers, which are two little black balls that are bewitched to attack the players, to protect their team. The seeker has to catch the snitch, which is this little golden ball and when they get it, their team gets an extra 150 points and the game is over," she explained excitedly.

"I always play beater at home," she said proudly, "People usually underestimate me because I'm a girl, but I'm stronger than I look."

"Dodgeball is too easy to be a sport. All you have to do is just avoid getting hit by the ball being thrown at you." Indiana replied.

But as he listened to Shelby explain about Quidditch, Indiana was rather surprised on how complex the game is. It sounded very interesting despite some of the hazards involved. He wasn't sure on what position would suit him but perhaps in time he'll find out.

"The beater position sounds a bit like baseball in a way, though there are differences. What is it like playing in that position?" Indiana asked. Perhaps Shelby could give him a bit of insight on that part.

Shelby couldn't stop smiling as she thought about all the games she had played before coming to Hogwarts. "I can't speak for anyone else, but I believe that playing beater is the most important position in the game. For me, being a beater is like having absolute power. You can stop the other team's chasers from scoring, you can stop their keeper from saving the Quaffle, you can drive the seeker off their course when they're chasing the snitch, and you can stop the other team's beaters from doing the same to your team."

She briefly considered each of the positions before continuing, "Plus, you're always busy. If you're a chaser, you won't always have the Quaffle. If you're the seeker, you have to spot the snitch before you can try to catch it. If you're a keeper, you're flying around your hoops by yourself while your team has the Quaffle. But if you're a beater, you'll never be bored during a game."

Indiana listened in detail but couldn't help but gulp when Shelby said that being a beater is absolute power. In his mind, the youth was imagining the girl with a sweet smile while swatting a Bludger at him with a bat. That scenario sent a shiver down his spine.

"Yipe! Please don't hurt me!" Indiana quipped, putting his hands up to shield himself while pretending to be frightened. "I'm too fragile to be hit with a Bludger!"

"Fragile, huh?" Shelby poked Indiana in the shoulder, laughing as she looked over at him. His expression was very similar to the one her on her mother's face the day that her brother brought home a rat and declared it his new pet. "Don't worry, you have nothing to fear from me. Unless you end up on the Hufflepuff team and have to play against me, because if that happens, you're going down," she mock threatened.

"Very true, though I won't make it easy." Indiana replied with a smile. "Well, I was a bit too late to sign up for flying lessons so I doubt I'll have the chance to go at the school's Quidditch team. Maybe later on in the future, that could change. I'll probably just find a book on how to fly a broom and teach myself the basics."

"Speaking of broomsticks, what kind of broom do you have for playing Quidditch?" the youth asked. He had remembered seeing different types of broomsticks in Diagon Alley and at the school while watching the students learning how to fly.
