Release the Duck! Empty Release the Duck!

As Cat walked along the lake edge, duck under her arm, something soft wound it's way through her legs, almost making her trip. "Adolf!" She squeaked, looking down at the ginger tom who was gazing up at her with a look that could freeze butter.

Then Adolf's eyes connected with Pierre's.

There was a great quack from the duck, making Cat shriek and throw her hands to her ears. Pierre landed on the ground in a mess and Adolf lunged at him. Feathers flew everywhere and Cat watched, horrified. "Adolf NO!" She yelled.

The girl lunged at her cat, pinning it to her chest and the duck lurched towards the lake, it's feathers a mess. Cat made sure Pierre was definitely in the water before releasing her pet, who gave her a disdainful look before sitting and licking his paw.

Cat scowled at him. "You are not out of the woods my friend."

Cass didn't want to make her presence known, but after seeing Cat head to the water, she knew something interesting was going to happen.

The key word being ducks. You got to love them.
She smiled fondly thinking of how her friend at home had yelled at her for not trying paté.
    Holly, you little weasel.

Cat thought she heard something behind her and turned around. "Hey Cass." She said with a smile. "Want to help me try out all a thousand and one ways to skin a cat?" She asked brightly, throwing a dirty look at the ginger tom who was sitting innocently at her feet.

"Em, maybe later," she said sweetly, caught off guard Cat had seen her go by. "I was actually just admiring the lake, actually. All of its duckish goodness. You know. Normal stuff," she grinned.

Her mind jolted back to the Library. And the cartwheels. Good times.
