In a Tree

Theresa skipped to the lake, she was supose to meet up with Lauren and smiled when she realised she got there first. She climbed the tree closest to the lake and sat on one of the low branches, fidgeting with the ugly hat she had to wear.

She took a book out of her bag and began to read as she swung her legs. She dropped her bag onto the floor and continued reading as she waited for Lauren.

Lauren wandered to the lake. Resa had owled her previously and said that they should meet down here. Lauren looked around but she couldn't see Resa anywhere by the lake. That's strange, Lauren thought. She said she'd be here. Lauren continued to walk to the lake, perhaps she was missing her.

Lauren walked to her favourite tree near the lake and sat down to wait for Resa. She lent her back against the trunk of tree and looked up.

"Resa!" Lauren said laughing. "There you are!" Lauren got up and climbed the tree and sat beside her Hufflepuff friend.

Theresa looked down when she heard Lauren and grinned "hey" she said. She scooted along the branch when she saw Lauren climbed the tree. She tried to straighten her slightly but couldnt because of the ugly hat. She sighed, this hat was going to make her hair look awful when it finaly came off.
"I havent been in a tree for a while so I thought that I should" she said as Lauren sat down.

Lauren nodded as she sat down beside her. "Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it? I sure do love the view, even though we're not that high!" Lauren said to her friend as she too swung her legs in the air.

"What's been happening?" Lauren said, not having really talked to her friend since the detention they had to endure. "That detention was awful, wasn't it? But I am so thankful that Ellis doesn't have the warped sense of punishment that Williams has." Lauren said, gesturing to Theresa's hat.

Theresa stuck her tongue out at Lauren "don't be mean to the hat" she said jokingly as she fiddled with it. The hat may have been the ugliest thing ever but no one was bothered by it so it was alright. Compared to what Black had to wear, it looked like she just had bad fashion taste which she probably did compared to most girls at Hogwarts, like she cared, her fashion was unique. "It is coming off today, I have to see Williams later" she said. She thought about the new Herbology Professor and shuddered "yeah but that dung was soooo gross!" she said, scrunching up her nose.

She looked up and shrugged "I'm up for going higher" she said as she stood on the branch and held onto the one above them.

Lauren laughed as her friend went up higher in the tree. Lauren hadn't been that high in the tree since Resa's dare to jump out of it. "I think I'll stay here. I might get the courage to jump again if I go any higher." Lauren joked.

Lauren looked around at the grounds of Hogwarts, and hoped that this week wouldn't be as crazy as last week. She had so much homework to do though, and the weight of it all was making Lauren nervous. She promised herself that she would go to the Library afterwards and finish her homework for the week before she procrastinated anymore!

Theresa looked back down at Lauren "well I cant leave you down there on your own you spoil sport" she teased as she went to sit back down next to Lauren. She felt the ugly hat and couldn't wait to get it off, she was going to make sure she didn't do anything that would get her in trouble for a long time, or at least nothing that would get her caught, especially by Williams.

Lauren laughed as her friend came back down to sit beside her. "Oh, you didn't have to come back down. I could have screamed up at you if you asked me something!"
Lauren reflected on her friends at Hogwarts; each of them so different, but Lauren would be quite lost without them. "So, when am I going to meet this Rain friend of yours?" Lauren asked.

Theresa grinned "it's alright, I dont want to do anything high since the tower anyway, even though it was fun while it lasted" she said, trying not to laugh.
She groaned "I hate that nickname, who would want to be called that" she said, rolling her eyes slightly, thirteen year old boys were strange, at least Rain would never see te hat she was wearing. "Probably never, he hasnt owled me back since he asked me for advise about this girl, maybe over the summer, you will have to come visit me or something" she said excitedly.

Lauren laughed, "There could be worse nicknames." Lauren said to her friend. "Advice about a girl?" Lauren asked, for she had thought that Resa had said that she liked him. "Oh... I bet you were pretty upset about that." Lauren said to her friend. "That does sounds great though! I would love to visit you over the summer. Perhaps I could meet Storm too." Lauren said.

"You know what, we should make up nicknames for our group! That would be brilliant. Like the modern day Marauders! Though, hopefully we don't get up to too much trouble!" Lauren sounded excited about having special nicknames for the HoA members.

Theresa nodded "it did hurt but what can I expect from a thirteen year old boy, I don't even know why I like him, we have been friends since I was like eight so it must just be friendship" she said.
She grinned "you would get on well with Storm, he is a complete nutter like you" she said teasingly. "The four of them are always around during the summer, Rain, Storm, Breeze and Sun.... strangest nicknames ever, we need to have nice nicknames" she said, laughing slightly.
"Just don't let my dad know about any of the stuff we have done so far, he was hoping that I would act less crazy and more like a normal, hard working girl that I am not hanging around with those four" she said, gesturing to the hat.

Lauren giggled, "I'm not a nutter!" Lauren said, though she knew that she was. "Breeze, Rain, Sun and Storm hey? I guess they like the weather."

Lauren laughed again, "Yes, we do need some really good nicknames. I guess we can discuss it with the other two girls in the HoA when we're all together. How awesome." Lauren said, thinking about what nickname the girls would give her.

Theresa laughed "you are so the nutter of the HoA, Shelby is the safety and realistic one, Hilary is the nice and slightly mature one and I am the.... I have no idea which one I am" she said thoughfully, grinning.
She fidgeted with her hat and wondered if there was anything that matched with it but just gave up.
"Just as long as our nicknames for the HoA has nothing to do with weather or days of the week" she joked.

Lauren laughed, "You're the stubborn, trouble making one!" Lauren said, ducking from Resa's swing.
"Oh, you don't like the idea of being Wednesday? I thought you be all for that!" Lauren said sarcastically. "Too bad!" Lauren swung her legs in the air once more, enjoying Resa's company.

"I heard you were becoming good friends with Cassopeia. I met her the very first day of Hogwarts. She is nice, albeit strange." Lauren said, thinking about the random Ravenclaw. "At least she keeps things fresh and exciting around here!"

"I am not stubborn and am not a trouble maker... I am a Hufflepuff and there has never been a Hufflepuff that wasnt kind, nice and honest" Theresa said, grinning as she pulled the hat down slightly.

She nodded "yeah, me and Cassi actually go back quite a while, before Hogwarts even but we got seperated when we arrived, we are making up for lost times though" she said. She smiled as she thought about Cassi, she was always fun and random, especially with the idea of sleeping in the whomping willow which turned out briliant.

"I didn't know anyone before I came here. It's sad really, when I learn about you having a sister here, and Shelby having her cousin. I can't imagine what I would have done if I hadn't made any friends, but I'm so glad that I did!" Lauren said, beaming at Resa. "Oh, and you so are stubborn and a trouble maker, but that doesn't mean you're not 'kind, nice and honest'... Well.. honest might be pushing it a bit." Lauren teased.

"Did you hear that Samantha Quill won the student of the month award, and Will Black the Elf award. Good for them, I suppose. Samantha did deserve it; she knows everything."

"And I am glad you made friends too, who would I be able to gossip and go on strange adventures with" Theresa said, remembering perticaly to their encounter with the icky boy's bathroom, she wondered what Lauren would have to wear if she was caught, maybe something worse then the hat. She pretended to act hurt as she tried to whack Lauren's shoulder "I am honest and the only reason I might be a trouble maker and that is a 'might' is because of the bad influences I hang out with" she said.
She smiled when she heard about Quill and Black "cool, no surprise with Black, he has been very helpful for Professors since he arived, I havent heard about Quill, I know she is a Slytherin and she cooks a lot but nothing else, she must be happy then" she said.

Lauren snorted. It was true that she did love to gossip, though the strange adventures wouldn't be missed. She hated getting into trouble.

Lauren chuckled at the idea of being a bad influence for Theresa, for it was quite the opposite. Lauren reflected on the trouble that she had been in this week, and for every single case, Resa had been involved somehow. "Bad influence?" Lauren questioned, "Me? I never!" Lauren was mock insulted.

"You're right about Samantha though. I don't really know her all that well myself, but we have classes together, and she seems to know quite a bit about a lot of different things. Head girl in seventh year, perhaps? Who knows. I didn't know that she cooks. What do you mean, cooks? As in like down in the kitchens?" Lauren asked her friend.

Theresa grinned "yes, you, I was a quiet girl who always read in the corner, wondering what Rain would be doing until I met you, Shelby and Hilary and everything went crazy from there, even though Rain and the other three know me as a funny, crazy person" she said, her grin grew at the memories. She pulled the hat down more, she couldn't wait till it was gone. "In the room of requirements, she has a bakery or something, so I am told" she said.

A bakery? Lauren thought. How odd. "Oh okay. That sounds interesting."

Lauren thought about Resa's four friends and really wanted to meet them. "I so want to meet these friends of yours. They sound great!" Lauren said, smiling. "Ah, I guess I did corrupt you a little, but if you remember, it was your idea, or Hilary's to go looking for the giant squid.. So perhaps you corrupted me? Did you think of that?"

"Well, Resa, my dear friend, I must bid you adjure. I have a mountain of homework that I must see to, or else I fear I will be snowed under." Lauren said, adopting her Lady voice, she often used when she addressed Lady Shelby.

Lauren climbed down the tree and curtsied to her friend. "I'll see you in the House of Awesome sometime soon." She called from the ground. "Don't get up to too much trouble without me!"

(OOC: Bed time for me! I must be refreshed for my shopping spree tomorrow! I'll let you know about my purchases, which you'll be thrilled to know about, I'm sure!)

Theresa grinned "they may be great but they are crazy, I thank them and years of hanging around with them for my craziness and strangeness" she said.
She thought for a moment as she pulled down the hat, it didn't want to co-opirate, the stupid hat. "That was Hilary's idea thank you, not sure who's idea it was to try and crash the Slytherin party or to make one of our own when we couldn't find it" she said, grinning as she tried not to laugh.
She did laugh as she bowed "very well Lady Lauren, I shall see you there soon, good luck with the challanging and dangerous task of homework" she said with her own lady voice.

She smiled as she watched Lauren walk back to the castle before she looked back over the lake, it was a great view. She hummed as she began swinging her legs, flipping through her book again.

(OOC:yuck, you shopaholic, shoping is soooo boring unless it is books but have fun anyway )

Hilary wandered down to the lake. It was a gorgeous morning. Far to nice to be stuck indoors. It would really be the perfect day for a trip into the forest, but she wasn't too interested in getting another detention just yet. She would wait for a while.

She noticed Resa sitting down by the lake, reading. She quietly snuck up on her and said, "Boo!"

Theresa's eyes widened as she quickly looked behind her. She stuck her tongue out at her friend "you nearly scared me to death" she said dramatically, raising her hand to her heart. "How have you been?" she asked when she was sure that it was only Hilary on her own. She pulled down the hat as she looked back down at her book, the idea of breeding dragons going through her mind.

"Well, that was the plan," she said, laughing. She sat down on the grass next to her friend, setting her bag down next to her.

"I've been good," she said, looking out over the lake. "No detentions or anything, which is good. A bit boring, but I guess I can't really complain. How about you?"

She glanced over at the book. "Dragon breeding?"

Theresa shrugged "nothing since the whole tower thing has happened, I am thinking about that party for all the houses again, I got sidetracked when Rain owled me about that girl he liked but I am back on track with planning" she said as she pulled the hat down, she found it less annoying when it covered most of the top of her face which was really weird.

She looked down at the book she was reading and nodded "yep, one of my friends from Durmstrang sent it to me for my birthday, it arrived this morning" she said.
