Happy Birthday, Alice!

Harmony bounced around happily, hanging up random streamers. Of course, she had them sent to her by owl, and her mother had provided her everything she needed. She needed some help making everything larger once more, and one of the teachers was happy to help.

Though they didn't have a cake, Harmony's mother had sent candy from Honeyduke's, which was quite excellent. She had told Alice to meet her at the Room of Requirement when she could, and Harmony couldn't wait to give Alice her present.

She knew her friend loved to draw more than anything, and she wanted to get her something to help improve her writing. That's why she got her a calligraphy kit. That way, she could practice her handwriting when they weren't writing with quills. Of course, it would make her quillwork better as well.

Done with the decorating, Harmony smiled, rocking back and forth on her feet, waiting for Alice to come through the door.

Alice sighed a bit outside the door, her friend was probably hyped up beyond reason. She took a deep breath ready for whatever was in store for her birthday she poked her head in examining the room. Well looked like her friend had fun putting up decorations again, oh dear this was going to be interesting. "Hello Harmzy girl", she said curiously as she continued examining the room.

Harmony grinned happily.

"Happy birthday, Alice!" She explained, pulling her friend into the room more. "I'll get you a cake when I can, but my mum got us Honeyduke's candy. Enough to feed a bunch of rambunctious children."

Harmony looked up at her rainbow colored streamers, before looking over at Alice again.

"I wanted to get gold and black for Hufflepuff," she muttered. "but mum got rainbow for some reason."

Will knocked at the door with his heel, a large nicely wrapped box being handled by both his arms. He nearly missed her birthday had it not been for the notice down outside the Hufflepuff common rooms.

"I can't believe nobody told me," He huffed quietly as he knocked again. "Oi! Party up in here! I got a present for the birthday girl!"

"I still like my rainbows, and yo Will", Alice said wondering how he would get her a gift if no one had told him. She hoped it wouldn't be too big or she might have to find a new method of escape from the swarming people. "Welcome to Rainbow Land, home of the candy addicted fiends"

Harmony grinned at Alice letting Will in.

"Oi, don't need to beat down the door with your foot," she said, eyeing the large box in his hands. "I'll take that. Go ahead and say hi to Alice then."

She took the large present from Will's arms and carried it over to the table where her present, as well as a present to Alice from her parent's rested. She set it down gently and headed over to Alice once more.

"Rainbow land? Really?" She asked.

When Harmy had invited Dixie to the party, inviting her to swing in, Dixie had been considering actually swinging in on a rope or something. Deciding against it, she briefly knocked on the door, carrying a bumblebee themed box: the wrapping was yellow, the ribbon was black, and though she couldn't figure out how to get bees to swarm around the box-harmless ones, of course, she hoped Alice would appreciate her present.
Seeing Will, Alice, and Harmy already in there, she smiled and said "Happy birthday Alice! One year closer until your death."
"I'm joking!" she added hastily.

"Sup?" He was finally granted entrance and was grateful for Harmy to take it.

"You know how hard it was to carry this thing all the way here?" Will brushed his hands before pausing. He could've just have used the levitation charm instead. Slapping his forehead, he decided that he was studying too hard.

"Don't ask how I knew it was your birthday. I'm just amazing like that," He winked at her.

Harmony grinned as she watched Will slap his forehead. So, he finally figured out that he could've levitated it here. She laughed and waved at Dixie, taking the present from her and setting it on the table next to Will's.

"What's in the box, Will? Jeez. That thing makes my present look tiny." She muttered. "Nice themed present here, Dixie. I tried to get the streamers to be yellow and black, but my mum chose rainbow. Ah well. We are in Rainbow Land now."

Dixie laughed, and asked "Rainbow land? RAINBOW land?"
Shrugging her shoulders, she said "Well, the name suits all the colorful decorations."
Looking at Alice, Dixie grinned mischievously. "You know Alice, there's a tradition out there about something speical done to the birthday person. It's based on how old your turning."
Grinning, she remembered the times when her brother would chase her around, giving her birthday spankings. She wasn't going to do that to Alice though. That would be too weird.

"Don't forget the Candy Addicted Fiends in Rainbow Land Harmz. Also Will you probably either heard from Harmzy or some type of notice knowing you. And hello there Dixie, I know you're joking" Alice chuckled and looked around to make sure she still had an escape route planned just in case something happened. "Yeah I know Dixie my mother feels the need to do it no matter how old I am. This year she will get to wait however to give me my birthday tradition."

"Nothing of course!" Will answered Harmy's question about the contents of his present with a smirk on his face. "Me being here is a gift enough! I hardly come out of the Library these days."

Obviously knowing that the occupants would look at him with skeptical expressions, he shrugged. "Okay, it's a month's worth of Ice Mice, Sugar Quills and Fizzing Whizzbees! That's all I could do at the last minute. You didn't really give me enough notice. I had to pay extra for the overnight owl!"

Dixie raised her eyebrow at Will. "Dude, you know you're not supposed to tell Alice here what her present is before she opens it."Smiling a bit, she noticed Alice looking around for an 'escape route' as she supposed her friend had called it. "Alice, Alice Alice." she said, shaking her head soberly. "I'm not going to do anything to you-at least, I don't think. So nothing will light on fire-unless I try transfiguring something."

"Then we should probably take your wand away from you just in case?" Alice chuckled as she raised an eyebrow wondering if her friend would actually light something on fire. "And yes Will that is part of the 'birthday surprise', but thanks for all of that stuff. You could have just given me a present later than today if it would have been easier for you."

Harmony whacked Will in the arm. "William Black! You are not supposed to tell the birthday girl what her present is before she opens it. You nutter!"

She shook her head before looking over at Dixie. "Please don't light anything on fire," she muttered. "Me and fire kind of don't mix."

"Seriously? It's not like that where I'm from," Will folded his arms, confusion etched on his features. His family always told each other what was in their gifts as a precaution. It wouldn't do for a three year old kid to reach in if he didn't know that the present was of the Dark Arts.

"It's customary to tell them what's in it," He continued with a frown. "Bounded by oath and whatnot---else what would happen if you reached in and a fire crab was in it?"

Dixie was a bit surprised. Did they actually expect her to light something on fire? Pretty much most of the time, she was only messing around. "I won't light anyone on fire, or anything!" she quickly promised to them, noting Harmony might have some sort of fear of fire or something. Looking around, she had to admire the decorations Harmony had put up. They were actually pretty nice. Nice and colorful, like a rainbow.
"But what if you lied?" asked Dixie, a bit confused by his families customs. "You could say 'there isn't a crab in there, like last time' and it turns out to be a bomb instead?"

Harmony just stared at Will, her eyebrow raised. That surely wasn't what she was taught. Her and Mozart always made sure their presents were a surprise. It was much more fun that way. Then again, Will came from the Black family. They had different customs and such from most other families.

"Point taken," Harmony said coughing slightly. "but you wouldn't do that to Alice anyway. If you did, I would happily kick your arse over the Astronomy tower. And that is a promise, not a threat."

Alice just shook her head a few times smiling, her friend were strange but she still loved them all the same. "Dixie I was kidding about the lighting things on fire, and why didnt they just give you the proper tools to handle the present as a hint instead of completely telling them. Then again knowing your present if its something like a fire crab could be very helpful..."

Will pouted at Harmy's promise, but nevertheless shrugged at Dixie. "It's a sign of good faith if you tell the recipient what's in it. If you don't, there's a sign of suspicion and they have to tread carefully. Lying would have you cursed into submission by the party guests of course...unless it was a harmless prank." He scrunched his nose at what his family considered a 'harmless prank' and happily left it stored in the back of his head.

Harmony grinned over at Will, messing up his hair happily. "I wouldn't do that to you, Willy boy! Well, I might since Alice here is the other half of my soul. Ah I almost forgot!" She said, pulling a tiny wrapped present out from her pocket. "This is from Rei, Alice. She said she's got a lot of studying to do, but she gave me this." Harmony smiled, setting it next to the other presents.

Dixie chuckled at Harmony, who was messing up Wills usually nice and neat hair style. Frowning a sudden issue that had come to mind, she asked Harmony "Wait… exactly how many people did you invite to Alices Birthday party?"
She was a bit concerned, she really did not want to have another panic attack like the time that Alice patted her shoulder.
Having the entire school in here would not help things.

"A 'harmless prank', why doesn't that sound too harmless to me", Alice raised an eyebrow slightly. "Well at least I know the present you gave is not a prank at least. And I will send Reina an owl later as a thank you for the present, hopefully she doesnt study until her brain explodes.", she snickered at Dixie messing up Will's hair, Will always like being nice and neat with everything it seemed.

Reina finally decided to knock on the door to the Room after pacing back and forth for awhile. She sighed, hoping that not too many students were actually in there and hopefully not a bunch of students she really didn't know. She just didn't want to feel like an extra wheel.

Harmony looked at Dixie and shrugged. "Anyone who wants to come is welcome. The Room will grow bigger if more people come." She answered, before heading over to the door.

She opened the door and grinned. "Hey Rei! Welcome to the party in Rainbow Land." Harmony said, opening the door wider to let her in. "We've got lots of candy, and people who spoil presents like Willy over here."
