    Entrance Hall Empty Entrance Hall

Post by Guest Fri 06 Aug 2010, 18:13

Samantha made her way into the castle, hoping against hope that no teacher, student or ghost would spot her. Her precious cargo rested in her satchel and she tried her best to walk in such a manner as to not jostle it. All she wanted was to maker her way safely to the Dungeons and into her dormitory. The other girls wouldn’t be around and she’d be left in peace to ponder her next move.

Head lowered and posture a little slouched so as to discourage any passer bys from halting her, the girl made her way into the entrance hall, every nerve ending in her body charged with nervous static.

Raven had just come from the dungeons where he'd had to wrestle Loki to make sure the Crup didn't eat his Herbology homework. He wanted to go outside and maybe find Will and ask if his stupid mutt had found a way into the dungeons to influence Loki.
Seeing Sam head bowed he frowned. Why was she slouched like that? His natural curiosity taking over, Raven decided to find out. Walking so that his path would intersect with hers, he asked, "Whatcha doing, Sam?"

The witch looked up startled and for a moment, her eyes filled with panic. Then, realizing it was Raven, the fear subsided but only slightly.

“R-ra-raven, wh-what brings you h-here,” she stuttered badly, knowing that she would give herself away if she kept it up but unable to help the matter any.

Okay, now Raven was very curious. The only times he had heard his friend stutter was when she was nervous or unsure of herself. Brows furrowing he wondered what caused her habit to act up. Canting his head, he bit his lip as he scrutinized her. "Sam, you okay? You know if you're in trouble or anything you can count on me to help you right?"

“Tr-trouble?” the girl tried to fake it but as soon as the word left her mouth, she knew pretences wouldn’t work. She just wasn’t a good enough liar. And maybe Raven would help her…

Stepping closer to the boy, she said in almost a whisper “I think I did something wrong… The girl near the forest said it was okay and she had a frog there but, I…” she trailed off, her gaze fixed firmly on the stone floor and her long hair falling in curtains around her anxious face.

Now, Raven was confused but also concerned. Sam thought she did something wrong and it had to do with the Forbidden Forest? And a girl told her it was okay? "Why don't you tell me everything, Sam? That way I can get the whole picture? That way I know what I'm getting into and how to think of a way out?"

The witch steadied her breath, she knew Raven was making sense and she willed her heart to stop beating so fast and hard.

“Al-alright. I was out by the edge of the forest, I didn’t go in, I swear. I was just d-doing homework because the lake is so noisy. And I saw… an animal and I… there was another girl there, a Ravenclaw, and she said it was okay to keep it and now…” the girl trailed off. Taking off her satchel, she carefully brought to her chest and held it close, mentioning for him to look inside.

However, the current resident of the bag must be anxious to introduce himself as a moment later, long white ears peaked out from the bag followed a pink inquisitive nose and tiny transparents whiskers.

Raven was happy she had collected herself a bit and listened as she told him about an animal. When she hugged her satchel, he guessed the animal in question was in there. IT was confirmed when she gestured for him to come closer. As he took a step forward to do so, he startled seeing long white ears peak out of the bag, followed by the rest of it's head. It was a rabbit.
"Aw, how cute," Raven smiled. He canted his head at it. "I'm guessing this is your new friend you were worried about? Hey, is he or she, going to be your new pet, Sam?"

“It’s a he,” the girl said proudly albeit quietly. “And I don’t know… I just found him, ell, he found me really. I didn’t boy him and Cass said he lived around the Forbidden Forest so I don’t know if I can keep him…” a note of worry entered her voice and she clung to her satchel a little tighter. Already, the thought of letting the bunny go made her feel an empty hollowness in the pit of her stomach.

Raven frowned as he bit his cheek. Pondering, he came up with an idea and grinned. Eyes shining in anticipation, he crossed his arms and nodded. "Right. Well, there's obviously only one thing to do. You sneak him in like you were going to. Then when he's safely in our dorms, you could always write a letter and ask Prof Green or the Headmistress a hypothetical question. After all, you didn't arrive with an animal. So why wouldn't you be allowed to keep it? It's not like you're trying to sneak in a baby wolf or anything."
Reaching out to touch the rabbit, he stated, "And if they say no, you could always take him to the RoR. Only you would be able to find him there. And the profs can suspect you have an animal, but there's no proof."

“But… I want to keep him with me… all the time,” the girl blushed. Raven must think her such a girl but she couldn’t explain it. He had Loki and she didn’t have anyone and now, she wanted to keep this rabbit by her side.

His idea did make sense though. It would be best to sneak the little guy in first. “I guess, you’re right… sorry.”

Cass let out a full blown chortle when she saw an inconspicuous- and to Cass, made her stand out so badly- Samantha, cradling a bag and OH MY GOD SHE HAS THE RABBIT IN HER BAG.
No wonder she'd heard that ol' Sparrow cooing.
"Samantha, Samantha, Samantha," she muttered to herself, before she walked closer.

"Sorry for what? You were asserting your Slytherin cunning." Raven grinned. "Sneaking him in here and all."
He smiled at the rabbit and looking around thought this conversation should probably be moved somewhere where there was less traffic. No one would go to the dungeons so they could probably talk freely there. After all it was sadly only the four of them in Slytherin now. "Why don't we go to our Common Room? You know it'll take awhile for the Profs to answer. In the meantime you could keep him. And even if they saw your rabbit in the Common Room, we could always say it escaped from an older student who was practicing Transfiguration."
Then he paled seeing Cass. Uh oh. Would this put a kink in their plans?

Jasmeet heard the loud voice of Cass.

Samantha, Samantha, Samantha. Curious as to what was going on, she walked towards where she was standing, Sam and Rave right beside.

She saw a peek of long white ears and a pink nose - she raised her brow, and whispered, "Hello everyone. Love that rabbit Sam".

She smiled at the girl to reassure her that this information was safe with her.

“C-cass!” Samantha squeaked as the Ravenclaw approached. Moving a little behind Raven, she mouthed “Common Room yes, and Cass was the one who said it was okay to keep him.”

To the Ravenbclaw, she said “I thought you were still outside with.. Catherine, I think…” Subconsciously, she clutched her satchel more. A little squeak informed her she was holding on too tight and she relinquished her grip. Great, she’d probably squeeze the rabbit to death, some pet owner she’d be.

    "Thanks Jasmeet," she added.

"Leaving already guys? We could always go somewhere that would allow us all to go. And don't worry, I'll keep my mouth shut about it," said Jasmeet, she had been looking for company the entire day and she wasn't going to let this opportunity slip so quickly.

Turning towards Raven she whispered for only him to hear, “Hey, you alright? You just left like that!”

Raven bit his lip and took a gamble on Cass. Smiling sweetly to Cass he state, "Hey, Pia. Um, look I gotta borrow, Sam, kay?"
As he was speaking he was subtly moving backwards. He nodded at Jas. "Hey, Jas. Sorry to run, but I really need help with my DADA homework. Sam volunteered to help me out, and I left my stuff in our Common Room. So if you'll excuse us,"he told them. Hoping Sam would forgive his boldness and would forgive him, he took her hand and headed for the dungeons.

Samantha shot a grateful look at Raven and mouthed “I still owe you desert,” to Cass. To Jasmeet, she barely managed a “See you around” before Raven was pulling her away from the group towards the Dungeons.

As the boy led her way, she held back the sigh of relief until they were at the door before letting it out. Thank Salazar above!

Cass took one look at a just as open-mouthed in shock Jasmeet, before shrugging, and laughing.
"Those Slytherins, eh? Soaked in mystique..." she tutted, copying her mother.
    "Where you off too, Jazmeister?"

Jasmeet raised her brow at the two Slytherins and turned to Cass, "Well the Quiddicth Pitch for some practice. You want to join?"

Jasmeet just wanted to put all her thinking aside, and just feel the breeze on her skin once more. Waiting for Cass' answer, Jasmeet remembered the feel of flying.

"I haven't signed up for the Flying Lessons, but I'm pretty decent at Flying and Quidditch. Lead the way!" she said happily, eating the last spoonful of Califlower Pureé, and throwing the plastic container in the bin as Jas pulled her to the Quidditch Pitch.
"You lovin' the Quidditch, Jas? How long it been since you discovered it?"

"Since I got my owl for Hogwarts. When I brought the books, I brought one on Quidditch and ever since I have loved it!" said Jasmeet enthusiastically.

Books was one passion was hers, something that she could talk about non-stop but the other was Quidditch.

Jasmeet eyed the Quiddicth Pitch before her and sighed happily.
