Meeting Up

Theresa skipped down to the lake. She had just had a very interesting game of 'parchment war' with Harmony, Indiana and Cassi and needed to calm down. She put her bad down by the lake before jumping on one of the trees and climbing up to one of the branches. She giggled to herself as she swung her legs and watched the lake.

Lauren wandered down the lake, feeling in need of some fresh air. She walked with her eyes almost closed, feeling at peace for the first time in a long while.

Lauren continued walking with her mind miles away, until she ran into a tree.

Lauren shook her head to clear it. That serves me right for walking with my eyes closed. Lauren thought. She was just about to walk away when she saw two legs dangling above her.

Looking up, Lauren saw Resa.

"Hiya!" She called. Lauren made her way up the tree also, and took a seat next to the Hufflepuff.

Theresa looked down when she felt something knock into the tree she was sitting in. She looked down and giggled when she realised that Lauren had walked right into the tree. She scooted over so there was enough room and grinned at her "hey ditzy, any reason you walked into a tree or did your tiny brain shrink even more?" she asked jokingly.

Lauren glared at the girl. Not tiny brain again! Lauren thought she had escaped that nickname!

"I didn't run into the tree... The tree ran into me!" Lauren said, nodding. "I thought you may have forgotten about the 'tiny brain' nickname, but apparently not... And what is with ditzy?! Do I look blonde to you?" Lauren asked, shaking her auburn hair in front of Resa's face. "Granted I did walk into a tree... But that is because I had my eyes closed, not because my normal sized brain shrinked!"

Hilary wandered down to the lake, wondering where her friends had gotten off to. Or maybe it had been her that was absent, she wasn't sure. All she knew was that she wanted to hang out, and not work on her homework.

When she arrived down by the lake, she noticed that Resa and Lauren were already there.

"Hey," she said, joining them.

"You may not look blond but your still ditzy" Theresa teased, laughing as she shoved Lauren's shoulder. "And what type of normal person walks around with their eyes closed?" she asked.
"The name tiny brain will never leave you so you might as well get use to it" she said, pretending to be disapointed that her friend was trying to get rid of the cool nickname.
She looked down and grinned "hey Hilarydoodaa" she said, waving at her.

Lauren grinned at Resa's answers to her questions. "I had my eyes closed because it was peaceful... It's not my fault the tree got in the way." Lauren touched her forehead, expected to find a bump there. As she did, she looked down she saw Hilary!

"Hilary! I haven't seen you in ages!" Lauren told her friend, "Come up and sit!" Lauren made room on the thick branch for her friend.

"Can't you two ever be nice to each other?" she asked, with a laugh, climbing into the branches. She knew that neither of her friends were serious about their teasing, so it was all fun. "Or do you have to be at each other all the time?"

She glanced over at Resa, her eyebrows raised. "Hilarydoodaa?" she asked, flatly. She hadn't the slightest clue where that one had come from. She wondered how many sugar sticks her friend had had that day.

Lauren grinned once more. "Oh, but it's so fun teasing Resa! She gets so wound up! It's hilarious!" Lauren playfully put her arm around the girl, "I don't know how she gets anything to insult me with though. Everyone knows I'm perfect!" Lauren said with a laugh. She was anything but!

"Hey you guys, guess what!" Lauren said, "I made the Quidditch team! I'm a beater! How exciting is that... Now all I need is a broom!"

Shelby skipped down to the lake after she received an owl from Lauren. When she stepped outside, she looked around to try to spot her friends. After a moment, she spotted them by a treeand made her way over to them happily.

"Hey there," she greeted when she reached them, setting her cloak on the ground before sitting on it and leaning back to look up at the girls in the tree. "What's up with you all?"

Theresa grinned "she is the one who walked down here with her eyes closed, she walked right into the tree!" she exclaimed before laughing again. "Not my fault she is tiny brained" she joked.
She nodded "yea, just made it up when I was on a hype and was saying random words, you like it?" she asked her before looking at Lauren and sticking her tongue out at her.

"Hi Shelby, tiny brain walked into the tree and Hilarydoodaa just arrived, I am great, what about you?" she asked before she turned back to Lauren and swung at her.
"I do not get wound up!" she said.

Hilary shook her head at her two friends. That's all she was going to do with the matter of them teasing each other. And for the matter of her new nickname as well...

"Congratulations!" she said to Lauren. "When's your first game? I want to go and see you play!"

She turned to look at Shelby, who had just arrived. "Hey," she said, looking down. "You're not going to come and join us in the tree?"

Lauren giggled as she missed Resa's swinging hand. "Hey! I've already had one head injury today! I don't need another!"

Lauren looked down at Shelby, "Hey! I was just telling the girls that I made beater on the Quidditch team! What are you sitting down there for! I hate yelling!" Lauren said, feeling her voice becoming strained.

Lauren turned to Hilary. "Next weekend! I'm super excited! You so have to come and watch me fall off of my broom!"

Theresa rolled her eyes "if I hear anything like 'did you hear about that Gryffindor beater in the hospital wing' or 'Lauren potter fell off her broom from fifty feet in the air' or even 'the Gryffindor got a splinter from her broom' then I am dragging you to your head of house and making you quit" she said. She couldn't stand why she wanted to go flying, yuck.
"And aim for people's heads" she said.

She turned to Lauren, a serious look on her face. "You are not going to fall off of your broom," she said. "If you do, after Resa is finished with you, I am going to lock you in the boys bathroom until you promise that you are never going to go near a broom again. Deal?"

She couldn't wait to see a real, life quidditch game. She had been reading up about it in the library, and she hoped to maybe play for her house team next year. Maybe.

Lauren was touched by Resa's and Hilary's concern for her safety!

"Have no fear, Resa, my puffy friend and Hilary my Raven delight. I'll be perfectly safe! After all.. I am the one that gets to hit the bludgers away! Not the one that can have one aimed at me! All I have to do, is be able to actually hit them away!" Lauren said, now feeling slightly more nervous about her ability to hit the ball of doom away. She never was good at tennis...

"Congratulations on making it onto the Quidditch team!" Shelby said excitedly to Lauren. "I can't wait to see you play."

She shook her head at the request for her to climb up the tree with them, trying not to dwell on the reason. Her hands were far too tender to do much of anything without feeling twinges of pain, thanks to their detention with Professor Malfoy. They were raw and cracked, though thankfully there was no bleeding.

"When is the game?" she asked Lauren, trying to skip over everything she'd been thinking of. "I might be able to help you with your bludger hitting technique," she offered. Shelby always played beater, though she had opted not to try out for the first year team. She preferred to scope out her potential competition before showing them what she could do.

Theresa nodded "alright but still be careful" she said. "Doesn't mean you cant be violent though, aim the bludgers at their hands and the side of their heads, it will knock them of their brooms and it sounds fun" she said.

"I just hope I don't hear about some quidditch accident from someone in the library and have to rush to the hospital wing to see you" she said.

Lauren smiled down at Shelby and across at Resa. "Everything will be fine! I'm sure that the game won't be too hard seeing as though it's a first years team, but I definitely will take you up on that offer, Shelby! I think I'll need all the help I can get. I actually applied to become a keeper or a chaser and I was made a beater.. Strange, but at least I'm on the team!"

"Well I will be wishing you good luck before you go to your matches" Theresa said as she began swinging her legs again. She looked at Lauren and Shelby "I can just see you two knocking each other's brains out or something" she said, shaking her head. "Well, what little brain you have left" she said, glancing at Lauren as she grinned.

Lauren mock glared at Resa. "That's quite enough from you about my brain size! It's not tiny, small, minute, or anything else! It's perfect!" Lauren said, putting her hand to her head once more. "Though this blasted tree gave my head a wack!" Lauren said, not even noticing that she said that the tree hit her head, apposed to herself walking into the tree. Oh well... The tree didn't have feelings.

Shelby giggled that Resa was still calling Lauren 'tiny brain', especially since Resa had been having more than her fair share of 'tiny brain' moments recently. "You know, Resa, for someone who has entrusted us with a secret, you sure are being pretty careless about what you call other people," she grinned evilly, remembering a certain pink, tutu wearing dragon that Resa didn't want people to know about.

Theresa stuck her tongue out at Lauren "good, it has made your brain bigger due to the swelling" she said, laughing before she turned to Shelby.
She listened to her before her cheeks went a deep red at the mention of the secret she didn't mean to tell them. Why did she have to be so careless when she ate sugar sticks.
She narrowed her eyes as she looked down at her "you wouldn't dare" she said, feeling her blush get worse as she thought about it.

"Well, I wouldn't do it on purpose," Shelby replied with a sly grin, "But I can't promise that I won't accidentally let something slip to someone who might use that information against you, like Will Black," she named the first person she could think of, though he did seem like the type to use Maximus against Resa. Especially since he called her... Shelby got an idea.

"Or maybe Lauren will just start calling you 'Ms Pygmy Puff' too..." she trailed off, giggling.

Lauren giggled knowing what Shelby was referring to. Maximus.. Resa's pink dragon. Lauren had clean forgotten about this and now she laughed at the memory of Resa's embarrassment.

"Oh yeah! Resa!" Lauren said, in between giggles. "How is Maximus going?" Lauren laughed again.

Lauren laughed once more at Shelby's words. "Miss Pygmy Puff!"
