Time to Catch Up Empty Time to Catch Up

Post by Guest Sun 15 Aug 2010, 11:15

Harmony dropped her bag down near the edge of the lake, just far enough so the lapping water wouldn't hit it. She sat down carefully, staring out into the everlasting water. She wondered how Will and Raven were doing. She knew they had at least met the new boy, Dimitri, but she hadn't seen either of them in quite a while.

The same with Jasmeet, Dixie, and Alice. Unfortunately, Alice had taken a leave with a fever or somewhat, and Harmony missed her terribly. She wondered where everyone had gone while she had been busy with her classes.

Jasmeet had been walking along the Lake, when she came upon a familiar blonde. "Hey Harmy," she smiled at the girl, going towards her, she bent down, and scooped the girl in a tight hug, "I missed you so much. How have you been?"

Pulling back, she studied the girl, she really had missed her.

Harmony laughed as she felt herself being squeezed to death. And then she had the sneaking suspicion she was being studied by Jazzy.

"I missed you too Jaz. I would hug your guts out, but you've already done that for me." Harmony teased, grinning at her friend. "Life's been crazy recently. I've been a bit of a ghost to everyone, haven't I?"

Jasmeet nodded, "So much can happen in two weeks, it's just been hard to get a grip on reality around here without you," she admitted. What she had said was true, but it was a good thing that she had Cass and Dixie in that time.

"I even went to the Hospital Wing, guess I missed you too much," she grinned.

"The Hospital Wing?" Harmony asked, surprised. "Whatever for, Jazzy?"

She must've been too caught up in her studies to even notice that one of her dear friends had been sent to the Hospital Wing! Harmony felt terrible that she hadn't been there for Jazzy when she needed her.

"Oh Cass, Dixie, Reina, Will and I were playing Quidditch, and Dixie's fanged frisbee hit me. I fell off the broom," she shrugged, "And then my ear started to bleed"."Oh Cass, Dixie, Reina, Will and I were playing Quidditch, and Dixie's fanged frisbee hit me. I fell off the broom," she shrugged, "And then my ear started to bleed".

Jasmeet smiled at the memory of the Hospital Wing, how Dixie had pretended to be sick so that she could stay with her. And then the Exploding Snap Card game – she would never forget that. And neither would she forget Cass staying there beside her for nine hours.

"I remember when I was playing Quidditch with you guys," Harmony murmured. "Then I had to leave because I had a lot of work to do and catch up on. I didn't know you had gotten hurt! Someone should've came and got me. Dragged me out of my dorm at least."

Harmony sighed slightly. How terrible she felt now that she knew one of her friends had to spend such a day in the Hospital Wing, all for a silly game.

"Don't stress about it Harmy, I'm perfectly alright, and relieved that you have returned from the Ghost World," she grinned at the girl. "So how’s the homework going?"

She knew that the homework had everyone swamped, she still had to do the homework for Herbology. “Found any good new reads?”

"I've found a few good reads about wolves, since I'm interested in them. I've also found some good Herbology books that Professor Ellis would be happy about." Harmony said, laughing. "Ghost World wasn't fun by the way, I wouldn't try being there, Jazzy. I still have the homework for our Mandrake assignment for Herbology though. I'm researching at the moment."

"Werewolves? Sounds interesting. I've just been reading alot about Dumbledore. He interests me, and I look upto him," she said, smiling, "I think the History of Magic class just got me started on him, and I haven't been able to stop reading about him. I'm trying to get as many perspectives of him as I can, so I've tried the book by Rita Skeeter too".

"I've heard about that Rita Skeeter. People say that half of her book is lies, and the other half is truth, but it's so twisted around it might as well be lying." Harmony said, scrunching her nose up. "Dumbledore was a good man, and it was good to study him in HoM. I wonder when our next lesson will be in that class."

"I believe that Rita Skeeter is a liar too, but I was mainly looking for more information, after all, it's nice to know other people's perspectives on things", she smiled, "I wonder what we are going to do in the next HoM class, I mean. We'll been focusing on Dumbledore and Grindleward.. Perhaps it's the relationship between the two".

"Well they were friends when they were young," butted in Cass, "but the ending stands true- they were enemies. Or at least, that's what I think. Don't go believing Rita Skeeter, if that's where your infos from. Uncle Bargy says she livens up the terminal ward at St. Mungos now. She thinks she's a squirrel," she grinned.

"Things have been off kilter without you Harmony, but I bet you, once we're second years, and we're all trying out for Quidditch, we'll be seeing you no end!"
Cass was sooo excited, all of the words in her end turned into REEEEEEALLY LOOOOONG BECAUSE SHE'S SOOOO EXCIIIIITED.

Harmony grinned at Cass as she let herself in the conversation.

"How's it going, Cass?" She asked happily. "I haven't seen you in a while. So, Rita thinks she's a squirrel does she? I'm not surprised. She must still be a bit traumatized when she was her Animagus, I mean, she was a beetle."

She laughed, shaking her head at Cass. "You know it, Cass. Quidditch will be a good way to get everyone together!"

Jasmeet smiled at the girls, "Yes I completely agree. I mean, it would bring people from our own House as well as other Houses together".

She remembered the thrill she got every time she was on the broom; it was one place that she would never get tired of. She hoped that she could make it into the team that was her only goal for herself.

Harmony peered out across the lake, a smile playing on her lips.

"Who's excited about the game we're playing as first years?" She asked the other two, grinning like a maniac. "How amazing is that? We get to play an actual game? Granted, we'll be playing with others that are not in our own Houses, but it should be fun and amazing none the less."

"I completely agree. And I'm scared that I might not be chosen, but it’s the one goal I have for myself. Everything else in my life, I do it for my mum," she babbled. She had not told this to anyone other than Dimitri the other day, and that too had been half of the story.

Harmony grinned at Jazzy, nodding in understanding.

"Everything I do is in memory for Mozart," she admitted. "My father wants me to carry on a legacy for Quidditch, but Mozart is who I think of. He was so happy when he was flying..."

She shook her head. "Anyway, fingers crossed for all of us getting chosen!" She exclaimed.

Jasmeet crossed her fingers, she hoped that her recent punishment and loss of House Points wouldn't lose her the chance to be on the Quidditch team, because that meant the most to her.

"Have you guys been in touch with the boys?" but quickly changed the subject, “Tell me about Mozart, Harmy”.

Harmony opened her mouth to answer about Will and Raven(possibly even Dimitri, but they really weren't friends yet), but then Jazz had changed the subject quickly so she closed it again.

Finally, she shrugged. "Er...well, what do you want to know about him?" She asked. "There's a lot I could tell you, so if you want specifics, you might want to let me know."

Jasmeet smiled, "Just anything" she said, hoping that it wasn't too personal, or something that Harmy didn't want to talk about. She knew how that felt, she had never wanted to speak about her father after his death, but opening to Dimitri the other day, had made her more comfortable.

Harmony sighed, picking at the grass she was sitting on.

"They say twins have...intuition about the other. Like...whenever I was sad, Mozart would be too. The day my Aunt Marie came, I had such a terrible headache. Mozart...he looked...felt...was fine, but...I knew something was wrong." Harmony said, shaking her head slightly. "I was just a little girl, I couldn't have said anything to make the situation change. It's like it was written in stone."

She sighed. "Nothing was the same after that day, but things before...oh it was amazing! You know Jen don't you? Jennifer Lupin? Well, Mozart and I would always hang out with her. It was so much fun! Jen's a Metamorphmagus you know, so she would always morph into one of us, or a combination of both! She'd have my long hair, but Mozart's eyes. It was like we were triplets."

Harmony's eyes sparkled as she spoke about Mozart happily.

She had heard about the intuitions in twins, but never seen it. Jasmeet looked at the difference in Harmy's actions - she was a different person when she talked about Mozart. She smiled, "Keep going?"

She was interested; she really did want to know about Mozart, because in doing so, she knew she would get to know Harmony better.

    Harmony nodded slowly.

"When Mozart and I were younger, we both had short hair, so it wasn't easy to tell us apart." Harmony said, smiling wistfully. "When we were smaller, my Aunt Marie would often come over. She was...hateful, rude even to Mozart."

Harmony frowned angrily. "I've always hated her. She's...mean and spiteful, and she hated Mozart. He was...a Squib you know. He didn't have any magic...and she hated him for it."

Jasmeet was shocked, "Harmy, you don't have to say anything more," she whispered, she didn't want Harmony to be forced to tell her. She knew how it felt talking about her father, and it hurt.

She just reached for the Ravenclaw girl and hugged her, trying to make the pain go away.
