By The Lake... Empty By The Lake...

Lauren walked down the lake, feeling the need for some fresh air. She had spent a good deal of time in the castle of late, so all she really wanted right now was some fresh and and peace and quiet.

Lauren found her way to the lake side and took off her shoes. She paddled her feet in the water, noting that it wasn't as cold as last time she had been in the lake. Then again, her whole body had been submerged and that's always bound to be colder than just one foot.

    Lauren leaned back and relaxed.

In the distance, Dimitri saw someone sitting by the lake. He was out jogging again, keeping himself in shape, and he made his way out around the lake as usual. As he draw closer, he recognised that it was his new friend Lauren. His jogging slowed, and he began to advance on her at a more reasonable pace.

"Hey, Lauren," he called out with a smile. It was good to see her.

Lauren was in a world of her own; enjoying the cool breeze and the feeling of the water on her feet, but she could hear footsteps close by breaking her concentration. She opened her eyes and looked up from where she was lying to see a figure running towards her. She sat up as he drew closer to her.

"Hey," she said finally recognizing Dimitri.

    "Jogging?" She asked him.

As he nodded, he stopped next to her, looking out over the lake. He seemed to be spending a lot more time around the lake lately, more so than almost anywhere else. He was starting to like it, every time he an past the lake he was reminded by all the new friends he had made. Hogwarts wasn't so bad after all.

"Yeah, getting the old exercise in." His shoulders rose and fell in a nonchallant shrug. "How are you doing this morning?"

Lauren grinned up at him. "Not too bad. I wanted some fresh air. The castle and all it's walls felt like they were closing in on me. I do enjoy the lake. It's peaceful."

Lauren lifted her foot out of the water and trailed her toes on top of the surface creating a ripple effect.

"Do you want to sit, or will you continue to jog?" she asked him.

He considered her question for a moment. Sit, or continue? In the end, he slowly decided to sit next to her, arranging his robes around him carefully. "I think I'll sit, if that's okay?" He watched the rippling of the water created by her toe. "I know how you feel, the castle can be a little stiffling at times."

Lauren looked over at him as he sat down beside her. "Of course it's okay," she said, leaning back once more. The sunlight had a drowsy effect on her, and she could just fall asleep under the sun, giving her, if she was not careful, the worst sunburn.

"It can be. I agree. I feel all I really ever do, is go from classes to the library to my dorm, back to classes... It's exhausting!"

Harmony rotated her arms, feeling her shoulders pop. She sighed happily as some of the pain went away in her joints. Jeez. Cleaning tower walls was not something Harmony wanted to do in the near future. She could see two people sitting by the shore. She recognized them both after walking closer. It was Dimitri and Lauren.

"Hey guys," she said softly, coming up to them. "Nice to see you again, Lauren."

She smiled at her new friend, remembering how the girl had come to her earlier and talked to her when she was feeling a little down.

Lauren sat up once more when a new voice appeared. She looked at the girl, and immediately recognised Harmony Lupin. The girl she had shared a walk with around the lake not that long ago. It was good to see her again.

"Harmony." Lauren said in greeting. "Hey, how are you? Did you have to clean out the towers?" Lauren moved over so that she would have room to sit down beside her and Dimitri.

Harmony plopped down tiredly, giving Lauren a smile.

"That's right. Indiana, Cass and I did. He told us to go ahead because he would do it himself, but we disagreed. So, Cass finished her job up and I've been cleaning walls top to bottom for a while now." Harmony said, rolling her arm again. "My right shoulder has it really bad, but it's fine now. It's just a little bit stiff."
