Post by Guest Thu 19 Aug 2010, 00:44

It had been a long time since Alex had been alone for more than an hour at the most. So far the day had been quite. Stangly quiet. She hadn't done much apart from help out with the dive. She didn't quiet know what to do with herself but she had eventually made the desicion to come to the lake. Everybody was there and she hoped tofind one of her friends.

"Howdy, Goodlove," said Cass as she sat herself down next to Alex. "How did the dive go?"

She'd tell her the news later, before she burst. It was so close to ticking the number off her list, but she'd wait until she was the actual thing.
    But how exciting was that?!

"You got any letters, recently as well?"

She smiled up at cass "hey, I think some of them are still down there but I'm not sure." she said to her "how are things with you?" she asked her. "and what do you mean by as well?" she questioned. She wondered what Cass was up to she didn't seem normal she was either overly excited about something or?

"Whats up guys! How ya doing?" Alex asked as she bounced up to the spot where Pecan and Sandy were sitting.

"How was your animal activist thing dude? And your detention, Pecan? Hope he was not too hard on you! By the way, What were you doing that got you a detention? Who else was with you?"

Alex saw watched Andy Pandy bond up to them "hey alex" she greeted her "not much what's up with you?" she asked her "you look a bit a excited but maybe that's just me" she turned to Cass "You got a detition?" she asked her wondering what she had done to get one in the first place.

Cass admitted, unabashed, "well, I was in the Whomping Willow. Malfoy caught us. But I think he's making me do all the hard work in the Detention because I 'Snuck in to the Slytherin dorms'. Honestly. I try to help and thats all I get."

She answered Lovegood's previous questions, after feeling pretty badass about the detention. Her first one. That sucked- now she couldn't cross having no detentions off her list. "I just wondered if you'd got any letters from home, at all. I'm worried I haven't had one in a while. Hmm."

She then turned to Andy Pandy, hoping she hadn't thought she'd neglected her the past few days, "Y'allright, youth?" she laughed, "The dive, you mean? Oh yeah, went really good. I loved it. Got a bit of a col-" SNEEZE.

Damn, she thought she'd had it gone.

"you got a cold didn't you?" she questioned cass "is that from not wrapping up warmly when it chilly outside" she teased "I know it was freezing in the lake" she thought about her letters home "I haven't had one in two day's not since my brother stopped pestering me" she said. She thought for a moment "thats odd my other brother Kyle usually writes to me with Emily once a week I should have got it yesterday" she thought for a moment "kind of strange don't you think neither of us have had letters from home in a few day's what about you Alex?"

"Hm. Maybe there's something up at the owlery. Is it your own bird?"

Cass laughed inwardly at Alex's running in of sentences, it was so hard to keep up with this girl. One moment she'd be on about one thing, and the next, that sentence was a different one! Alex Lovegood reminded her of Alex Marling so much. Before the Portkey.

"But, anyway, here's my cool news. I'm the Keeper!" she said proudly. "In that quidditch trial we're doing- how cool is that?!"

"yeah it's my own bird she probably just stayed with my brother she loves him more than me" she said "congrats on keeper by the way how did you find out?" she asked her. Alex too had signed up for it as a chaser and she loved quidditch so much she would be devestated if she didn't gat picked or something.

"Haha, that's the problem with pets, I suppose. They have their favourites. Bradley's always been there for me, though. He's a brilliant toad," she said, grinning absently. "I'd better show him to you one time. Maybe later?"

Cass nodded, thankful for the congratulations. "Head on by the sign up sheet where your wrote your name, near by the Quidditch Pitch. Wait. Alex. You got in!And what's more- you're on my team!" Cassopeia beamed.

"I almost got a toad but I thought the owl would be of more use. Bradley's a cool name for a toad yeah you better show him to me" she added laughing. Then cass mentioned about the qudditch "awesome" she squeled jumping for joy and hugging Cass for no particular reason apart from being happy. "we are so goin to win! who else is on our team?" she asked trying to calm herself done a bit.

"Hurm, let me think, let me think. All I can remember is Harmony being seeker. Samantha's the other seeker. OH! Jasmeet! How can I forget my best friend?!" Cass hit herself on the forehead. Odd.

"Well, no time like the present, Alex. Head to the Forbidden Forest, come and see Bradley? He helps me decided if I have a good possible friend," she said, winking.

"well, no time like the present, Alex head to the forbiden forest come and see bradley? he helps me decide if i have a good possible friend" Alex laughed at the comment. "sure lets go" she said jumping up and following cass.

Bradley was definately gaining a bit of the weight.
"I hope you haven't been chasing Bowtruckles again, man. You should really stop," she said as Bradley ribbited up a storm.

"Sorry if the whole Forbidden Forest thing scared you. I guess because I'm there all the time for Bradley I forget it's scary. I used to be, too. I'm getting complacent... but I digress. Anyway, this is Bradley. Don't let him ribbit in your face- it's lethal. Very loud."

"he's so cute" she said "don't worry about it I could probbaly do with being a bit braver" she said "it's just not me the whole rule breaking thing. If I was going to break the ruels I would not have chosen the forbiden forest as a starting point" she laughed "but I sould thank you for dragging me in there it'smade me relise that I need to enjoy the time I have at hogwarts if you ever need a crazy, sensible friend who would do anything for her friends you know where to find me" she teased laughing.

Cass laughed outright, "if you think Bradley's gorgeous, you need your eyes checking. He's a warty little gorgeous kiddo. Ah, he's got me on his little webbed finger," she said, defeated, "He's beautiful. Just don't call him a toad, he's a frog," she whispered, adding finger quotations around the last word.

"I'll add you in my contacts, Alex. Mad and sensible. Got it!"

Cass' heart blossomed when Alex said the sweetest thing to Bradley. "He's going to officially love you, you do know that."
And sure enough, as she looked over at Bradders who had been jumping alternately on Alex's knees and hers.

"Bradley. Woah, what a story," she said, stroking an imaginary beard. "I didn't pick him, rather, I saved him...
I was at a circus. He was in a show, and he was being Imperio'd to dance. So I snuck back and got him. The Great Margeini got back before I could save the others," she added glumly.
She swallowed bile, and said the next sentence before she could regret it, "that was the same day the thing happened to my brother."

"it would be difficult not to love me" she laughed looking at the frog. "that's so cruel and horrible" she gasped "at least you managed to save one. Then Cass said "that was the same day the thing happened to my brother" Alex froze not sure of what to do next. She was very curious but she didn't want to ask about it it could be a sensetive subject so she left it alone. If Cass wanted to talk about it she could and if she wanted to keep it private Alex was not going to stand in her way. She looked at the girl "are you ok? Im sorry if my questioned brought back things you didn't want to think of" she said

Cass laughed heartily. "I cannot imagine anyone not liking you, really."

She tapped her pumpkin juice she had just opened out of her bag. She didn't feel the need to unburden it to anyone anymore- Indiana had been there for that- but she didn't want to leave Alex hanging, "he had the same name as you. He was an Alex. Nah, don't worry. The past is all in the past, right?"
    Wrong.
"Bradley, you want to show Alex a dance?" she said slyly.

"yeah cass the past is the past but the past is what makes our futures it also makes us who are without it where would we be?" she left it at that she did not want to force Cass into telling her just to satisfy her curosity. "Yeah bradley I would love to see you dance I have yet to see a dancing frog" she said to Bradley.

"He specialised in jazz," said Cass as Bradley got himself into a small part of the clearing and started limberin up. "when he was in the Circus troupe, I mean. It was imperio, but he seems to have had muscle memory for some of the routines. Agh! I'm so glad he's going to show somebody- he's very talented!" gushed Cass.

Bradley took one of his weedy legs that held up his massive body to the left, and then the other diagonally to the right. He started to ribbit a beat.
