    Spying Empty Spying

Post by Guest Sun 22 Aug 2010, 10:37

Hilary crept around the corner in one of the western towers. She kept herself a safe distance from the people in front of her, but close enough that she could still hear what they were saying.

She had been down at the lake when she had heard the two sixth years talking about something they were keeping up in the tower. They had seemed like they wanted the whole thing quiet, which had immediately peaked Hilary's interest.

So, she had followed them. She had not intention of turning them in, in the event that they were doing something forbidden. She was just curious as to what they were keeping in the tower.

She saw on of them turn, looking to see if anyone was behind him. She quickly ducked to hide behind a suit of armour, before continuing after them.

Theresa was on her way to the Hufflepuff common room to see how Lil Tom was doing when she saw Hilary, she looked like she was following some older years. She didn't look like she wanted to be seen so she followed her slowly. She kept a fair distance and stopped when she suddenly ducked, she tried not to laugh, Hilary was so being a snoop!
"Hey Snoop" she whispered when she started walking again.

"Hey," she whispered back, choosing to ignore the fact that Resa had called her a snoop. She wasn't so sure she could dispute it anyway... Look at what she was doing!

"What are you doing here?" she asked, still whispering. She was trying her best to not talk to much. She didn't want the sixth years to hear her, and she wanted to make sure that she caught everything they were saying. She wanted to know what this mysterious creature was!

Shelby was planning on heading down to the lake, but something felt like it was drawing her up to the towers instead. Curious why she suddenly felt the urge to investigate, she headed up there. As she rounded a corner, she spotted Hilary and Resa, who appeared to be spying on a few sixth years that were a bit further down the corridor.

She silently joined them, whispering only when she was right next to them. "What are they doing?" she asked, nodding her head in the direction of the older students.

"I saw you and I wanted to find out what you were doing following the older years" Theresa whispered. She turned and saw Shelby and tried not to laugh, this was becoming fun. "Hey Shelby, Hilary is being such a snoop, I don't know what the older years are doing yet, shame" she said as quietly as she could.

Hilary waved silently to Shelby, who had joined them. This was going to be a bit tricky, what with three of them now following behind the sixth years. But they could pull it off.

"I was down by the lake," she whispered in explanation. "When I heard them talking about some creature they were keeping up in this tower. So I started following them, so I could see what it was."

Shelby nodded at Hilary's words- the sixth years certainly did seem like they were up to something. Hopefully it wasn't anything dangerous, though.

"Look," she whispered, "They're moving again," she pointed at the students who had continued down the hall and had opened one of the many doors. "Should we follow them?"

Theresa looked back to the students and saw that they were moving again. It took everything she had not to squeal with excitement when Hilary mentioned that they said something about hiding a creature in the tower, she wanted to see it. Instead, she settled for bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for what Hilary thought.

Hilary nodded. "I'm going to follow them," she said. "You guys can come along if you want. We just have to make sure that they don't catch us." She paused, hearing the sixth years speak.

"...Have to keep it hidden. We'll get in so much trouble if we get caught with it. Can you imagine what Mitchell would say if she knew?"

She slowly started to move after them, still keeping a safe distance.

"What do you think it is?" she asked her friends.

"I don't know," Shelby whispered back, following at the same safe distance that Hilary was keeping from the older students. "It could be a creature, but did they actually say that? They might have found an object of some kind and are keeping it up here."

She paused when they reached the door that the sixth years had entered. Cautiously, she peeked around the doorway and saw only stairs leading further up the tower. "I think we should wait until they come back down before we go up," she whispered to Resa and Hilary, "We don't know if there would be anywhere up there for us to hide without them seeing us first."

Theresa clossed her eyes as she followed Shelby and Hilary "please be a dragon, please be dangerous, please be a creature" she whispered as she crossed her fingers. She looked at the stairs and nodded "good idea, it might be no room at all up there" she said as she took a step back.

"They definitely said it was a creature," she whispered in reply. "That taller one there was telling the other one that 'the stupid creature in the tower' was getting too big for where it was hidden. And that may be a good idea. I've been up there before, and there's no other way out than to come down."

She turned to Resa, laughing. "I doubt it's a dragon," she said. "They would never be able to get away with that. I think it's something they got out of the forest."

She glanced around the tower, looking for somewhere they could hide for now. If they stayed where they were, the sixth years would definitely see them when they came back down.

Theresa pouted when Hilary said it probably wasnt a dragon. "I hope it is dangerous then, even deadly maybe" she said, suddenly cheering up at the thought. She looked around when she noticed that they were in clear, obvious sight. "Maybe we could at least get closer to the wall or something" she suggested

"You and your dangerous creatures," Hilary said, shaking her head.

She quickly moved closer to the wall, behind a suit of armour, hoping that the sixth years wouldn't see them. And if they did, then they wouldn't think that they had been following them.

"What happens if it is a dangerous creature, guys?" she asked, starting to wonder. If it was... Should they go to the professors about it?

Theresa grinned as she snuck behind another suit of armor at the side. She thought about what Hilary said and shrugged "maybe, we should see what it is first and if it is then we might have to" she said sadly, it pained her to say that, the creature was probably adorable.

Hilary nodded. She knew that her friend would hate to turn in the creature if it happened to be dangerous.

"Quiet," she said, hearing footsteps coming from the tower. The sixth years must have been on their way back down. "Get closer to the wall. I really don't want them to see us."

She flattened herself against the wall, hoping that the suit of armour next to her would conceal them enough.

"...So awesome," she heard one of the sixth years say. "We so have to show this to Oliver."

Theresa looked up at the steps when Hilary sounded urgent. She heared footsteps and did what Hilary said. She hid against the wall and listened carefully as she hoped that they were not seen. She heard them talking and became more excited then cautious again as she wondered what the creature was, it sounded great.

Hilary held her breath as the sixth years walked past. She didn't know what they would do if they found a bunch of first years spying on them, and she really didn't want to know.

When they had turned the corner and she could no longer hear their steps, she motioned for the other two. She peaked around the suit of armour, just to be safe, and moved to continue to where the sixth years had just come from, wondering what they were going to find.

"Come on," she said to the other two. She was getting excited now. "Let's go see!"

Theresa watched as the sixth years passed, making sure she was silent. Once they were out of view, she looked to Hilary who gestured for them to go. She nodded as she followed her friend. She hoped that it was a creature, that whole thing worth almost being caught by older years.

Hilary continued up the stairs, in the direction the sixth years had just come from. She had wandered up this way before, and knew that it shouldn't be too hard to find something hidden up there, as there wasn't a whole lot of places to hide anything.

"Should we have sticks or something?" she asked. "You know, incase it's something that's going to come at us and we need to defend ourselves?"

Theresa followed Hilary up the stairs as she wondered what it was. She wanted to run up there to find it but she knew it was better to keep quiet. She stoped when Hilary spoke and thought about it. "Maybe, I dont know, what could we use?" she asked. She looked around but didn't think there would be stinks or anything in a tower.

Hilary looked around. There wasn't a whole lot they could use.

"I guess it will be fine," she said. "They came up here and didn't have anything to defend themselves, so we probably won't need anything either."

She continued up the corridor, her excitement building. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw that Resa was practically bouncing. She didn't even want to know what her friend thought they might find up in the tower.

"Hey, look over there," she said, suddenly. She pointed to a medium sized container, hidden under one of the windows. "Do you think that's where it is?"

Theresa nodded, it was true, if the sixth years came up here without trying to protect themselves then it would be safe.
She followed Hilary and looked around excitedly when she heard her speak. She looked over to where she pointed. She grinned when she saw a container, she could feel her fingers itch to open it.
"It could be, I hope it is" she said excitedly.

Hilary quickly looked around the area, trying to see if she could see anywhere else that it could be hidden. But she couldn't really see anywhere else, and no one would have noticed the container there if they hadn't been looking for it.

She glanced over at Resa, with a smile on her face. "Do you want to do the honours of opening it?" she asked, knowing her friend was dying to know what was inside.

Theresa looked at the container with interested. She wondered what it could be. It could be something dangerous from the forest, even somethig deadly, that would be brilliant. She looked over to Hilary and nodded asshe grinned "alright then, here it goes" she said excited before she skipped over to the container.
