Branches by the Lake Empty Branches by the Lake

Theresa walked down to the lake as she flipped through her notebook, checking any last minute plans for the Parchment War. She turned to a page with a list of creatures on it, only a few were ticked off.

She smiled to herself as she read the list. Her hapiness was short lived however when she felt her right foot catch in something. She screamed in surprise as she fell foward and hit the floor.

She looked around and quickly stood up, hoping that no one saw that. She picked up her notebook and glared at the brach on the ground.

"Who leaves a bloody banch by a lake" she muttered as she kicked it. She closed her eyes when she felt a sharp pain in her foot.

"Oh I give up" she said as she turned and sat down and opened her book.

Lauren was walking down the lake, getting some fresh air from the stuffy castle. She had spent the majority of her time in the Gryffindor Common Room, trying to study for the exams. She finally decided that she could not take the pressure anymore, and needed a breather.

Lauren looked up, and at the perfect moment, for she saw Theresa in the distance. She was about to call out to the girl, when she saw her fall to the ground and then get back up again.

Lauren laughed to herself. And she thinks I'm the clumsy one! Lauren thought as she made her way over to the girl now sitting.

"Hey, how was your trip? See you next Fall?" Lauren said, laughing as she sat down beside her.

Theresa rolled her eyes when she heard Lauren. "Oh, how very wity of you Lauren" she said sarcastically.
She looked back at the branch and narrowed her eyes "not my fault there is a branch where people walk, that is random and irritating" she said.
"Anyway, hello Lauren, how are you?" she asked after takng a deep breath.

Lauren laughed as she looked towards the object that tripped up Resa. "Oh.. It was a branch, was it? That's funny. All I saw, was you falling down and then getting back up again. I was rather amusing from afar."

Lauren smiled at the girl, "I'm good though. Totally over exams and studying but I suppose it must be done."

"Of course, I am not that clumsy, did hurt though, stupid branch" Theresa said as she rubbed the side of her head.
"The exams are so hard, I have been trying to study for them but it is getting harder, what about you, been studying for them much?" she aked.

Lauren sighed. "Yeah. I've been the the Gryffindor Common room. I just really need some fresh air and some time off." Lauren looked at the girl, "Sorry I haven't been around. I guess I've just been busy, is all."

Lauren lent her head back, "I cannot wait for the term to end. I am so nervous about the new students coming in though. I hope they don't disrupt the school too much!"

Theresa grinned "it's ok Tiny Brain, it has been nice without you, no trips to the Hospital Wing" she joked.
"I think the new students will be fun, a swarm of new faces and Rain is coming" she said, fidgeting with excitement as she remembered the letter she had got from him a few days earlier.
"If the first years get too much then there is always Shasta" she joked.

Lauren laughed. "Hey! I was never taken to the Hospital Wing, though not for lack of trying I suppose!" Lauren looked at the girl as she mentioned Rain.

"Ohh! I cannot wait to meet Rain. I really want to meet him!" Lauren was now feeling less anxious about the throng of first years especially since Resa's friend was among them.

"And yes. You can set Shasta against any troublemakers!"

Theresa nodded "ye I miss him so much and he actually comming here next year!" she said as she jumped up and did the happy dance. "He is the one who got me into Magical Creatures and stuff, he is a danger lover andyou are going to love him" she said, laughing as she thought of everything they could do.

"We will use Shasta to keep them in line, except Rain of course, he said he wants to be Shastas dad" she said.

Lauren looked at Resa as she jumped up and started dancing at the mention of Rain. She raised an eyebrow but didn't mention it.

"A danger lover hey? Sounds like a perfect friend for you." Lauren couldn't resist not mentioning the fact that Resa was so happy about Rain coming. "I cannot wait to meet the boy who obviously makes you so very happy!" She laughed as Resa narrowed her eyes at her.

"Ah. Well we cannot let Shasta hurt Rain.. But all other first years must be wary of your dangerous dragon!" Lauren laughed.

Theresa glared at Lauren, wondering what she meant. "Oh hush up, he has been my best friend since i was like five, he helped me a lot since... Well, we are just best friends" she said as she hoped back into a sitting position.

"And I am not a danger lover, danger just seems to find me, not my fault" she said with a shrug. "we might let him burn him a little, he did say that he would try and set him on his aunties" she said, giggling as she remembered the letter.
