    Walking Empty Walking

Post by Guest Fri 27 Aug 2010, 23:00

Theresa hummed to herself as she walked along the edge of the lake. Silently, she thought about the finals and about the last few days of school.
There was no doubt that it was going to be exciting. People were celebrating, some people, from what she had heard, were even planning pranks.
She wondered what she would be doing, it of course had to be something fun.
Maybe I will get some ideas today she thought as she continued to walk around the lake.

Cat chased the annoying ginger tom otherwise known as her pet, bloody murder on her mind. "GET BACK HERE!!!" she screamed. Adolf obviously had some Schrodinger in him though, as he ducked behind a tree and then vanished off the face of the earth. Cat skidded to a halt, rather puzzled by this turn of events.

It was then she noticed, with some shock, that she had almost bowled right into Theresa. "Oh! Um, hey, long time no speak!"

Theresa was knocked out of her thoughts when she heard someone running. She turned around, her eyes widened when the girl almost hit into her.

"Hey Catherine, it has been a while" she said, smiling cheerfully.
"Everyhing alright?" she asked curiously, wondering what the girl seemed to be running for on such a nice, quiet day.

Cat blushed. "Yep, just trying to kill my cat." She said cheerily, giving a toothy smile, surreptitiously peering around before giving it up as a lost cause. Damn that cat!

    "How've you been?"

Theresa laughed, it seemed that all cats were a lot of trouble.
She did not see a cat, well, she didn't even see Catherine until she was right in front of her so she wondered where it was hiding.

"I have been alright, a little stressed over the finals but now that the final days are coming, should be exciting, what about you?" she asked.

Cat grinned. "There's some kind of party happening in our common room, it's a little insane up there. End of term is always the most fun time of the lot. Anything happening in the land of the Puffs?" she asked with interest. She was really curious if there was something out there that could top their pinata. Her house was certifiably insane.

Theresa shook her head "nothing interesting, we have butterbeer and are playing muggle games like twister, not too exciting but fun none the less, there is only me and two other puffs, there are no other puffs left, they all left" she said with a shrug.

"It has it's upsdes though, I get a dorm to myself and the comfy armchair right next to the fireplace" she said cheerfully.
"The majority of the school seems to be you Ravens, the poor school" she joked.

Cat sniggered. "Just what the world needs - a horde of intelligent, curious, insane, magical people being let loose on it." she shook her head. "Poor world."

"Doesn't it get lonely if there aren't that many people around? And where'd you all go?" Cat asked, concerned. She knew heaps of Hufflepuffs - or she remembered knowing them. This lead to a philosophical tangent in a far corner of her mind that she tried to ignore.

Theresa grinned "I know right, well, hopefully the new faces next year will be yellow, green and red" she said.

"I guess it get's lonely some times but the benefits are worth it and if I am to lonely then I can just go and see people from other houses" she said.
"Who knows, the common room might be swarming with first year Hufflepuffs soon, I have no idea what happened to the others though" she said thoughtfully, she hopped that they were all ok. she remembered a lot of nice ones from the first time she visited the common room.

Cat grinned again. "Ah, first years. That will be an interesting experience - corrupting small, malleable minds, moulding them to our bidding..." she trailed off when she realised she was beginning to sound like a Bond villain. "Ahem. Right, first years. Hopefully there'll be a good mix, not so many blues this time, it's getting crowded up there!"

Theresa grinned "I cant wait to see if any would believe that potions is on the sixth floor or something" she said cheerfully.
"I am going to be a great influence... as long as they follow the do as I say, not what I do rule" she joked.

"I had it with you Ravens, we need other houses too, luckily my friend Rain i coming next year and he could be a Slytherin, he is the type" she said.

Cat laughed. "Astronomy in the dungeons?" she suggested. "Or maybe we could tell them that Myrtle really enjoys being annoyed." She giggled. "You'll have to introduce me to your friend when he comes. Rain is a very cool name." she nodded sagely as though she was wise to the ways of names. She wasn't, but she liked the image it presented.

"That would be awesome, I wonder if any unexpecting first years would actually believe us" Theresa said, giggling at the thought.

She snorted "that bloody name, Josh, that's Rain, thinks it is cool for him and his friends to be named after weather" she said, shaking her head.
"You will be able to meet him when he comes next year, I will introduce you to him, he has been sending me letters all year, excited to find out what this school is like" she said.

"There would have to be a couple we could thoroughly confuse." Cat said.

"Weather? Does he have a friend named Storm?" Cat asked, wicked grin in place. Comic books flooded her mind for an instant and she shook her head. X-men later, conversation now. She clapped at being introduced "Yays!"

Theresa laughed again and nodded. "He does actually, that is Sam, there is four of them" she said.
"There is Josh who is Rain, Sam who is Storm, Brin who is Breeze and George who is Sun" she said, giggling madly.
"I just hope that we can confuse one of them" she said, rubbing her hands together evily.
"You might be able to see him on the train after the holidays" she said.

"Rain, Storm, Breeze and Sun." Cat repeated, shaking her head slightly. And she thought her nickname was mad. "We should set up a plan - confuse a firsty or something like that!" she said, her mind traveling to Monty Python and other forms of insanity. It probably wouldn't do for Bea to know she'd seen that...

She made a face. "Hols are gonna be bizarre." She remarked.

"Oh we so have to, it would probably be a record if we can confuse one before we even step foot at Hogsmeade train station" Theresa said excitedly.
She thought for a moment before nodding "yeah, it will be, I am so use to being here now that going back home and not seeing everybody every day, even people who I only see in class, is going to feel weird" she said.

Cat nodded. "We'll have to scope out a couple in Diagon alley or something." she said, almost drooling at the thought of the ice-creamery she'd seen last time she was there, thinking even more about the book shop. She frowned. "I hope we all keep in touch." she said. It would be a little sad if they didn't.

Theresa nodded "speaking of Diagon Alley, I cant wait to go back there and there is bound to be some gulable firtys in the leaky or something" she said. She frowned before nodding forcefully "so true, we all need to stay in touch, I am sure you will have a lot of visitors over the holidays, it will be like we never even left the school" she said, grinning.
