    Meeting Empty Meeting

Post by Guest Wed 01 Sep 2010, 23:28

Theresa skipped to the lake after sending an owl to Hilary. She was so happy to meet up with her friends again, after spending so much time practising, revising or doing the finals. She sat at the edge of the lake and leaned back on the grass as she waited for Hilary.

After recieving Resa's owl, Hilary made her way down to the lake. She still had tonnes of work that she had to get done, but she figured she could put it off for a little while. And besides, planning their last big thing as first years was important too!

She spotted Resa sitting down by the edge of the lake, and moved to join her.

"Hey," she said, sitting down. "How's it going?"

Theresa smiled when she heard Hilary. "Hilarydoodar!" she greeted cheerfully asshe hugged her friend.
"Everything is going great now, but we need to plan something to do for the last day which is sooo close, or maybe the day before the last day seeing as we all hve so much packing to do" she said, thinking to her very messy dorm.
"Nothing to get us in trouble but something fun" she said.

Hilary laughed as she hugged her friend back. She couldn't help but wonder if she would ever go back to being known as just Hilary.

"Yeah, we wouldn't want to get detention for the train ride home," she said, with a laugh. "Well, we definitely have to go for a swim in the lake. That's a given. And there should definitely be tonnes of food."

Theresa nodded "yea of course we have to swim, that is like celebrating how we became friends over a hunt for the giant squid, even though we didn't see Christopher" she said.
"Music too and you cant forget, sugar sticks!" she said excitedly, choosing not to mention that she had some in the common room.

"Very true," Hilary said, leaning back on her hands. "It's too bad that Shelby won't be able to come. It's not going to be the same without her." She paused a second, thoughtfully. "Are we inviting anyone else? Or just our group?"

She shook her head at the suggestion of having lots of sugar sticks. That was really the last thing Resa needed. But, it was their last get together before school finished up, so she couldn't really say anything.

"We'll be able to get tonnes of food from the kitchen," she said, nodding.

Theresa thought for a moment "it will be more fun if we invite anyone and then people can just join if they want to, it is after all, an end of school celebration" she said cheerfully.
She quickly raised her hand "bagsy being in charge of food" she said, already thinking of which types of food she was going to get from the kitchen.

Hilary nodded. "Sounds good. We can try to get a real bash going, like the one we did near the start of term. There's probably lots of people who would come."

"Make sure you get muggle food too," she said, thinking of all the food she hadn't had in so long. "I'm craving a Mars bar. I haven't had them in forever."

She thought for a second about what else they would need for a successful end-of-term-party. "What about decorations? Or should we just leave it as is?"

Theresa looked at Hilary curiously "what is a mars bar?" she asked, smiling as she thought of all the funny names that muggles seemed to come up with.
"Anyway, it would be a great way to end the year, maybe balloons hanging from the trees, they should match each house colour" she said before grinning. "And a banner! it should say 'Horay for surviving the year and staying sane'" she said before giggling. "And under that in rainbow colours it should say 'we never thought it would happen" she finished, grinning more.

Hilary often forgot that Resa didn't know what some muggle things were, so she accidentally gave her friend a funny look. She quickly said, "It's a candy bar. It's amazing, which is all you really have to know."

She couldn't help but laugh at the suggestion Resa made for the banner. "Sounds good," she said, smiling. "We'll definitely be able to get something like that from the Room of Requirement."

"Strangest name ever but I might try it, depends though because with the things you like, it might taste horrible" Theresa joked, grinning as she leaned back, still amused about the strange things muggles say.

"Great! even if we cant though, it will be fun to make and the words are like, so true" she said, giggling.

Hilary pretended to be offended. "I do not like strange things. They are perfectly normal things," she said, jokingly. "If anything, you're the one who likes strange things."

She laughed. "The words can't get any truer," she said, shaking her head, as she remembered all the crazy stuff that had happened over the past term. It made her wonder what would be happening next term.

Theresa stuck her tongue out "I eat normal things that taste great, thank you" she said, grinning as she thought of sugar sticks.
She nodded in agreement "yep, even though we might have a few loose ones" she said before pretending to cough. "Lauren the tiny brain" she joked between each fake cough.

    "Sure, sure," Hilary said, jokingly.

She could imagine their party already, and it was going to be awesome. She couldn't wait to see how it would turn out for real.

"Can't you and Lauren ever just be nice to each other?" she wondered aloud, glancing meaningfully at her friend. She knew it was just joking, but she preferred when everyone just got along.

Lauren wandered by the lake and saw Hilary and Resa there together. Lauren decided to go over to the two girls she hadn't seen in a while. Lauren had missed their company during these finals, and now seemed like the perfect opportunity to catch up on the latest happenings.

"Hey, you two!" Lauren said as she made it over to them.

"But that's no fun" Theresa said, pouting at her. She grinned when she heard Lauren. "Cootie Queen!" she greeted as she jumped up and ran to her. "I thought you had left or something, stop ditching us" she said dramatically as she hugged her friend. She skipped back over to Hilary and sat down. "So how have you been?" she asked casually.

Lauren grinned at the girl and returned the hug. She would really miss her three friends, even when Resa gave her nicknames like 'Cootie Queen, and Tiny Brain'.

Lauren smiled at Hilary as she sat down beside her. "Oh yeah. I'm not too bad. Next term is going to be very interesting." She said as a passing comment. Lauren wasn't sure if she was returning to Hogwarts next term, but she didn't want to say anything to her friends just yet. Not until she was 100% sure of what she was doing.

Hilary smiled and gave a small wave to Lauren as she sat down, choosing to ignore what Resa had said.

Her mind trailed off to next term, since it seemed to be coming up in every conversation. All the talk about it was making her wonder, making her second guess everything. She couldn't help but wonder why things had to change.

Jenny wandered down to the lake, her favorite place to think. She spotted a familiar head of red hair in the corner of her eye and decided to walk over to the three soon-to-be second year students.

"Hey, what are you guys up to?" Jenny asked, tucking a lock of golden hair behind her ear before plopping down onto the soft grass.

Theresa nodded "Yep, should be great, even if it will be confusing and a little hard with all the first years" she said as she leaned back. "Our party by this lake is going to be great tomorrow though, oh yeah, Lauren you have to come because everyone will be busy packing on the last day and it will be good to spend our last free day having a party by the lake where we all became friends" she said cheerfully.

She looked up when she heard a voice and smiled "hi there, we are just relaxing really" she said.

Lauren smiled at Resa's words and remembered exactly when the four girls had become friends. They were diving to look for the Giant Squid and Shelby had nearly drowned. Lauren smiled again at the memory of that, knew that her life wouldn't have been the same if she did not go down to the lake that day.

Lauren looked up as she saw Jenny. "Hiya. Yeah, we're just relaxing and talking about next term. How have you been? Recovered from the Quidditch match?" Lauren smiled. Jenny had been a beater like her, but on opposing teams.

"I think i heard the word "party" somewhere in your conversation," Jenny raised a brow, an amused smile playing across her lips. Students at Hogwarts sure loved throwing parties. Although, it did sound appealing. Jenny had finished all of her exams days ago and was eager for something to do. Everyone seemed to strung-up on exams, still.

"I hardly had to recover. Just an overnight rest. I didn't get hurt at all," Jenny responded to Lauren's question. She had been a beater, but she wasn't worth attacking and had left the game untouched by any bludger.

"oh yea, just planning a party beside the lake here, to celebrate the fact that the exams will be over and it will be the only day people have free before they have to pack, you want to come?" she asked. She thought about the quidditch match and winced when she remembered how painful it looked before those students went to the hosptal wing.

"Sure, i've got nothing better to do. I've finished all of my exams. Everyone seems so wound up and busy with all of our finals. I think a party would be a very nice thing to kick off our second year," Jenny wondered if she would be back for the next term. She wasn't positive, but she sure hoped she could. She'd miss her friends an awful lot if she didn't.

Jenny observed the scene before her. The lake. The sky. Her friends.

"Well, i'm off to the Room of Requirement- i've gotten a bit of inspiration for a painting. See you guys later!"
