Samantha eyed the green slinky fondly, it was rather pretty. And did it really move when someone was thinking fondly of her? Because it seemed to be moving an awful lot. But than again, that could easily be due to the nature of the spring.

"I guess," the girl said, securing a grip on the slinky. She had no idea how she would get the thing down the winding stairs but she supposed she would have to think of something.

Seeing Cassopeia return with a repaired slinky rather quickly, Indiana stood straight at attention as though he was a low ranking soldier awaiting orders.

"Slinky ready and waiting to be deployed, ma'am!" the youth spoke while looking into space and awaiting the next order. Indiana held onto the metal slinky, which rested coiled and compressed in one hand.

Theresa held out her slinky and grinned before looking at Cassi. "Ready Cassico" she said excitedly. She really wanted to see what the slinky did, she was happy to know that she would hopefully find out soon enough. She looked back down at her slinky and got ready for when Cassi said to drop them.

"Right everyone. You know how many ways there is to the Great Hall- that's right, Ms. Cotgrave, ten points to Hufflepuff," she said before Theresa could open her mouth, "without touching the slinky with your body, you've got to get it down there- you can use your wand, and the Slinky's special power. I can't wait to see your faces when you find out what they are," she chortled. "Right. I'm starting on the steps near the bell tower, and then it's whatever I see. You guys at your stations? One..."

Indiana could only grin amid his guess being confirmed as correct by Cassopeia.

'ARE. YOU. READY?' he thought to himself while adding more to the train. 'Then for the people here in attendance. For the countless of others skimming our exploits. And for all those gathered here tonight. For one night only, it is the slinky series. Soooooo... let's get ready to rumble!'

Indiana was brought out of the temporary daydream by Cassopeia counting down.

Theresa grinned and stuck her tongue out at Cassi. She wondered how they were going to do this without actually touching the slinkies. She inwardly shrugged, thinking that it would just add to the fun anyway. She prepared herself as she heard Cassi start to count down, she was becoming more excited as she waited.

    "Two..."
She moved to the Bell Tower Stairs, hearing a clock tick in her head loudly. "I really am going to love this..."
She got a hold of her slinky, sneaking a look at her competitors. They were all ones to watch. Samantha- always had something up her sleeve. Theresa- horde of creatures at her command, Indiana- knew the inside of Hogwarts like the back of his hand, Mary- logical.

And there was Cass, with her muggle slinky.

As the countdown continued, Indiana held his slinky, which was really primed to go. Amid the initial wait, the youth was once more drawn into a very brief continuation of his earlier daydream.

'And if you're not down with that, then Hogwarts has got two words for ya!' he thought before shaking his head to prevent himself from hearing the response from the imaginary audience in his mind, thus bringing him back to reality.

Mary was looking at her "toy" in amazament. It was so colorful and she couldn't wait to see what special powers it had.
She considered it quite hard to get your slinky all the way down there without touching it, but she was sure she'll think of something. The girl was listening to Cass' countdown and thinking how much she'll miss them all over the summer.

Theresa waited for Cassi to start, she couldnt wait. She wondered how she was supose to get her slinky down first. She tried to look at the others and could see that they were as ready as her. "oh come on" she mumbled excitedly as she looked back to Cassi, listening carefully.

"You warped out there, Indiana? THREE!"
Cass placed her slinky on the very top of the staircase. Gravity gave way, and the silver spring slowly fell forward, hitting a step, and another and another and another and another and another, and another and another and another and another and that was the end of the steps of the bell tower.

Trick staircase next, about twenty more staircases to go.

Mary was watching Cass' slinkie hop down the stairs and laughed. It seemed so fun!
She set hers on top of the stairs she was standing on and let it hop down. The witch wondered what it's special power was, when suddenly it started doing little flips in between hops. Mary chuckled and watched her slinkie with delight. She was little worried how she'll get it over the floor between the staircases. But the Slytherin found she didn't have to worry about that, the slinkie started doing some sort of flips.

"Wow!" said Cass inbetween each satisfying slink! slapping on the steps. "Mary, yours is great- if I say so myself," she grinned.
The trick staircase hadn't gone so bad, even though she was halfway down. She'd only fallen and banged her face just the once after miscalculating where the trick step was, at which point the slinky did a titanic jump (which was odd, she'd bought it from a muggle toystore) and missed the trick stair altogether.
"Everyone loves a slinky, you've got to love a slinky!" she sang merrily.

    Ahh, this was the life.
"I'm on the next staircase, losers!"

Theresa laughed "you wont be winning for long Cassico" she called to the other girl as she watched her slinky fall. She grinned as she watched it flashed different colours with each step it hit. "Awesome!" she said cheerfully. The colours were brilliant and there was no sign of any horrid pink, but there was purple, her favouite colour.

Indiana narrowed his hands before letting his slinky unit go forth. Amid watching it move down, he noticed that his slinky was spinning on its axis as it moved downward in hops, adding momentum such that it was gaining speed. But the slinky hit the edge of the staircase as it moved too fast before going in another direction at a slow pace first before speeding up.

Seeing the strength and weakness of his slinky, Indiana knew what he had to do.

"I say so myself, too!" Mary cried out, watching her slinky and laughing. She looked over at Theresa's and it seemed to be changing colours with each hop. "Resa, it's beautiful!" the witch exclaimed and grinned.
Her slinky reached the trick stairs and Mary quickly counted the stairs and went to stand on the step below the tricked one. She took out her wand and just as her slinky was about to hop on the trick stair, she reached out and set it her wand and it hopped on that instead of the trick stair. With a triumphed "Ha!", the Slytherin stepped aside so her slinky would have a free way.

"This is going swimmingly! You will hear my roar of victory, and you will all bow to me, in my field of slinkies. Get ready, guys!"

The slinky was a really cool invention. It performs a number of tricks, including traveling down a flight of steps end-over-end as it stretches and re-forms itself with the aid of gravity and its own momentum. What other things did that? And what was more, it didn't need magic. Amazing.

She sighed when Mary's slinky avoided the trick step as well.
    "AGH!"
Another fall, her face late for another meeting with the floor.

The momentum was peaks and valleys in regards to the slinky's velocity as Indiana watched it enter the Grand Staircase. As it descended down the stairs, the velocity began to increase such that the slinky went over one step, then over three steps, and then six steps before crashing into a wall. Once it recovered, the slinky changed direction before descending down several more flights of stairs as though it was drunk due to crashing a few more times.

Eyes widened as Indiana watched his slinky head towards the open door to the Forbidden Corridor.

"Oh hell!" he yelped before moving to intercept his slinky's trajectory. He barely managed to reach and close the door, cutting off the slinky's path such that it changed direction to continue its descent.

That wasn't even going to leave a red mark! thought Cass with undiluted cheer.

She wondered where everyone had got to- they'd all gone their seperate ways come the fifth floor. She'd gone down a secret passage she swore by and the rest she hadn't looked back to see. She was getting edgy thinking about where they were though.

At the sixth floor landing, she had to levitate (with great difficulty, then ease) the slinky to the next staircase, running frantic as she did so. "Not long!" she sang to herself.

Amid watching the slinky ascend to the fourth floor, Indiana had quite an amount of work cut out for him in guiding his unit down the stairs. He noticed Cassopeia and Mary making progress, knowing that things would now become a race to the finish line.

The slinky crashed into a wall before making its way down the stairs while its velocity increased after every moving hop that it made.

Jasmeet ran to the towers, and saw that before her many of her friends stood. She was breathing rapidly when she saw that Cass stood before her.

"Am I late? What is going on?" she asked a tint of worry in her voice, and saw that everyone turned to look at her.

"Jas, hi!" Mary greeted the Gryffindor, grinning. She didn't know where Cass has gone, but she still saw Indiana, Resa and Sam.
Her slinky was making progress, hopping and twirling in the air. It was almost in the third staircase already and the Slytherin was having so much fun with it. She was only hoping they won't get caught.
"We're having a race of slinkies." she explained to Jas, who didn't know what was going on.

Theresa laughed as her slinky passed the trick staircase. "Hey" she said to Jasmeet before looking back down at her slinky as the colour changed. She smiled triumphantly when it reached the third staircase. She looked at everyone and wondered where Cassi had gone. She must have been by far in the lead or something.

This fifth staircase was really getting on Cassopeia's nerves.
"You bloody bugger," was the worst insult she could come up with to direct at the stairs, although after that the slinkies movements did seem to move more.
Typical Cass- losing her head and going down the one staircase in Hogwarts, that yes, may be a shortcut, but also glued your feet (and slinky) to the floor.

Squelching ontop of the invisible clue and levitating- well, dragging- the slinky until the end, she raced to the fourth staircase, waving at a bemused student nearby and begun the slinky ride again.

"Eugh, it's still got glue on it. Bloody bugger!"

Indiana was finding a lot more trouble than he had expected while maneuvering his slinky down the stairwell. There was just a lot more obstacles for his slinky to bypass or overcome but at least he was making progress.

He noticed Theresa's current location along with Mary's current location, both of them still ahead of him but not too far ahead.

"Hi Jasmeet, you're just in time! Grab a slinky and let it roar!" Indiana called out.
