Lesson Two

Jasmeet readied herself for the unlocking charm. She grabbed her wand tightly, it was now or never, she thought.

Raising her wand towards the chest, she said, Alohomora. Walking towards the chest, she grabbed the top handle, but it didn’t budge. That amused her.

She walked back to where she had been standing, and raised her wand once more, Alohomora. This time she heard a slight click. Jasmeet was pleased that this time when she tried opening the lid, it opened nicely. Confident, she smiled and continued to say the spell on the chests.

Alohomora, she said with a strong voice on the last chest, with a small click, she opened it, and plunged her hand inside. Taking her hand out of the chest, she pulled out her homework and a bag of candy.

Naty waited for prof. Williams to finish explaining today’s lesson, and then opened her book and read everything before actually trying to cast the spell, charms was something she did without much effort but liked to know everything about the things she was going to do beforehand; after finishing she gave a quick look around to see how her classmates were fairing, turning back to her chest she analyzed it first, then raised her wand and said “Alohomora”.
The lock moved a little but didn’t open, frowning at the inadequate results, she took a deep breath and tried again this time slower “Alohomora”, then the lock made a clicking noise and opened to reveal another chest inside the first one.
This one didn’t represent a problem, she now knew what it was that she had concentrate on to get a chest open, and said the incantation again, four more times before getting to the last one, which revealed a piece of parchment with the homework and a bag of candies.
*cool! Hope it has chocolate inside!, way to go prof. Wlliams!* she thought with a grin on her face. Deciding she was going to do immediately her homework so she didn’t have to waste some of her free time, Naty took out some parchment and started writing down.

Bri listened to the teacher as she explained how to use the spell. She wasn't going to give up until she got this one right! She wanted to unlock the chest. So Bri stared at the chest, concentrating hard and said, "Alohomora!" She waved her wand as she did it.

The chest shook a little but it didn't unlock. Frustrated, Bri tried again, "Alohomora!" She said. At first she thought nothing was going to happen, but then the lock popped open! She was so excited. She opened the chest and looked inside. She took the bag of sweets and her homework and began.
