    Hanging Out Empty Hanging Out

Post by Guest Sat 24 Jul 2010, 03:18

Theresa skipped to the lake, rubbing her head slightly. It was still sore from the sugar rush she had that morning. She sat at the edge of the lake and stuck another sugar stick in her mouth, she had to admit, they were brilliant. She couldn't believe she had never heard of them before. She looked at the flowers on the grass and smiled, it was a nice day.

"You know," Hilary said, sitting down next to her friend. "Too much sugar isn't very good for you. Remember what happened last night, when you ended up confusing everyone?"

She dropped her bag onto the ground next to her, and rolling up the sleeves of her robes. It was nice out, and it felt nice to let the sun warm her skin.

Theresa smiled up at her friend "oh I remember, that was my last one" she said, pretending to cross her heart. "I had such a head ache after it that I am going to never eat so many again, Shelby ended up dumping all the sugar sticks into the river, it was terrible" she said as she leaned back onto the grass. She suddenly grinned "isn't it funny that this has become our new 'place' and none of us has really intended it to happen" she said, giggling slightly.

"So, you're a recovering sugar-holic now?" she asked, teasingly. "And with how much sugar you had, it really doesn't surprise me that you ended up with a headache."

She looked around the lake. She hadn't even really realized that this had become their place. "It's a nice place, though," she said. "We can get out in the sunshine, away from the castle. And it's semi-private."

Theresa snorted "yes I am a recovering sugar- holic and I am never going to touch the stuff again" she joked. She looked around and smiled "yeah it is nice, I am not surprised that we always meet here without doing it intentionaly" she said. Her smile suddenly turned into a grin "so about that letter you sent to Shelby, what did it say?" she asked hopefully.

"It's really been since that time we went swimming with the giant squid that we've been coming here regularly," she mused.

"And, nice try," she said, laughing. It was too good of a plan to let Theresa in on it. Almost completely guaranteed to work. "If I tell you, we won't be able to pull it off, and then you'll regret it forever."

Theresa pouted "aw, I thought I would have had it then, you looked dazed and ready to tell me anything" she said. She sighed "that is good, we all just come here and then that is how we all meet up" she said happily. She thought that it made it special, their first real adventure, just the four of them was right here. "Can you at least tell me if it like a set thing, like you are going to do it at a certain time or something?" she asked.

"No, there is no set time or place," Shelby said, joining her friends. She had caught the tail end of the conversation and she had a feeling that Theresa was talking about the plan that Hilary had proposed. "And don't even bother trying to get any information out of us, because it won't work. You'll just have to be on your toes and by the time you know what's happening, it will be too late to do anything about," she said with a smug grin flashed at Resa.

"Yep, no set time," she said, smiling at her lovely friend. She would would thank them someday. Or be really upset with them. Either way, it would work in her favour, no matter how she reacted. "Just when the right moment comes up."

"Hey Shelby," she said, turning to her friend. "How's it going? Still wishing you could strangle Will and whoever else in History?"

Theresa groaned "how did I end up with friends like you two?" she joked as she grinned up at Shelby. "I hope you both know that I am going to probably kill you both is something happens" she teased. "I don't even know if it is a crush, it isnt, definitely isnt, so we might as well forget this whole thing" she said.

Shelby grinned. "No, I'm feeling much better now. It seems like they're paying more attention now and the discussion is far less heated. Plus it helps that someone understood my argument and didn't just dismiss everything that I was saying because they think I'm some Dumbledore-worshiping zombie or something. Will even said he agreed with me a bit, that it seemed like everyone was dismissing his accomplishments just because they don't like him."

"Well, it wouldn't be a very good plan if nothing happened. That would defeat the whole purpose of making a plan," she said, with a shrug.

She turned to Shelby. "The fact that he's agreeing with you at all is a good sign, if nothing else. And I've noticed it's calmed down lately. I'm almost thinking of getting involved again."

Theresa smiled "at least it is better now that they are actually listening to what you have to say instead of just brushing it off" she said happily. She seemed a lot better about the lesson then she did last time which was great, hopefully they listened to Shelby more, she would never admit it out loud but the girl is really smart, too smart. "Also, there is no crush so there shouldnt be any plan" she said to Hilary.

Shelby laughed. "There is a plan, and we're going to go through with it because even if you say that it's not a crush, we know that it is a crush. You'll thank us for it eventually," she flashed Resa a smug grin. "There's no use in arguing it with us so you should just give up now, or we might have to come up with a more drastic and embarrassing plan," she threatened in a teasing voice.

Theresa huffed and stuck her tongue out "fine but it better not be bad" she said, grinning as she leaned back. "Is Lauren in on the plan? if she is then it should be very interesting and no it is not a crush, it's not, it's not, it's not" she denied. "I wish I had a sugar stick" she mummbled quietly as she looked longingly at her bag that was next to the tree.

Shelby tacked Resa's questions and statements in the order she said them. "No, Lauren's not in on the plan, yet. I'm sending her an owl later to tell her. It will be interesting. Yes it is a crush, and you don't need a sugar stick," Shelby caught her friend's longing glance at her bag and wondered if she had a stash in there. "You need to learn how to control your desires Resa. I would like to eat nothing but Chocolate Frogs for the rest of my life, but I know that it isn't reasonable. You can have one once in a while but too much is bad for you," Shelby remembered the time when she'd eaten so many Chocolate Frogs that her mother had to actually burn all the rest of them so Shelby couldn't get to them. She'd only been about eight at the time, but Shelby still loved Chocolate Frogs.

Theresa rolled her eyes "for the last time, it is not a crush" she denied. She didn't know what it was but she refused to believe that it was a crush, she could not and would not even think like that. She looked back at her bag and quietly and slowly scooted closer to it, hoping the others didn't notice.
