Dixie tip toed to a corner of the library, and found an empty table, away from most others, except for the people in the desk next to her. Eh, she was sure they wouldn't mind. Dixie slipped on her safety goggles, tied up her hair, and made sure there was a clear path to the nearest exit, just in case.
"No explosions today Dixie. No matter what." she muttered to herself. She placed her wand on the table, and took out her notes.

Alex was going to the Library, researching animal transfiguration, when she spotted Pyrix, "'Sup Pyrix! I hope you do not mind if I join you and...." Alex paused as she took in the weird appearance of her friend, "Whats with the nerdy scientist get up?"

Dixie looked up, and grinned, immediately pushing her wand safely away from Ria Tia Smia. She kicked her fire proof blanket further under the table, while smoothly saying "Oh, er, I was just going to practice! As for the science get up... Let me put it this way: the goggles are fire proof."

Alex glanced for a moment between Pyrix, the blanket and the notes.

"You were practicing Transfiguration?" she asked shrewdly, as she set down her own books at the table and pulled out a few notes she had made. Looking up, hoping to see a shocked expression on Pyrix's face.

    Please ask! Please!

Dixie said flatly "Yup, this is all the equipment I hauled out-JUST to practice Transfiguration." Dixie then grinned, and said in a dramatic voice "It's so..." she threw her hands into the air, "Sad!" she said with a dramatic sob.
Looking up quickly and grinning, she said "Wanna practice with me?"

"You know it just - just...." Alex's voice broke as she gave a highly (read over) dramatic sob, "too over whelmed to have the honor (sob) of practicing Transfiguration with (sob) you!!!!!!" before she burst out laughing, upsetting all of her books. "We are just soooooo weird are we not ???????//!!!!!!"

Dixie busted out laughing, and suddenly sobered up as the books fell from the table. She gazed at them for one full minute, and gave the most dramatic, fake sob in the history of overly dramatic fake sobs. "The boooooks!!" she bawled, wiping imaginary tears from her face.
She glanced at Ria Tia Smia-and resumed laughing like mad.

After about five minutes of not trying hard not to laugh, it tool Pyrix just one look and a sentence to make Alex start laughing like mad again.

After full ten minutes, Alex wiped real tears from her eyes, from laughing, and said, "Lets get to work Pyrix or I will faaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiillllllll!" she whined out.

Dixie picked herself up from the floor, and clambered back onto the chair, still laughing, though not nearly as much. Grinning, she grabbed her wand, and brushed back her bangs, wondering what would happen if they got another giggle fit in the middle of casting a spell.
Heh heh. Giggle fit. That was enough to make her start laughing again.

"So what were you thinking of practicing before I oh-so-nicely came up as your savior and saved you from the mundaneness of doing Transfiguration alone?" Alex said as she swept into a bow. The straightening up, she took out her wand and set her books straight. Trying hard not to look at Pyrix, lest she might start laughing again.

Dixie finished laughing, and picked up her wand, opening her books and unrolling scrolls of parchment. "Right, so what spells do you want to practice? I've been rubbish with a few of the spells, like turning the match into a needle-pathetic, I know, but that needs some work. How about you? What exactly are you going to work on?"

"Turning a match into a needle? Seriously?" Alex asked incredulously, "No offence!" she quickly added. "Me? I was thinking of doing research on animal transfiguration. But I can help you if you want?" she asked, hoping that Pyrix would not take offence. "If you want. After all, even I need practice!"

Dixie sighed, and snapped her goggles back on, she knew she was rubbish at such simple spells, though she WAS doing a LITTLE bit better in some of the more advanced spells. Smiling, she said "Sure, I'll help in your research, besides, I can practice turning a match into a needle later. This assignment is going on right now."

"Awesome! Here you go!' Alex said brightly as she dumped her books on Pyrix's side of the table. "I will go get more books!" she added, taking the first opportunity to go.

    Animal Transfiguration! Let us see!

"Animagiis? I doubt so. Remedial Transfiguration? could work. Wait! Ways of animal transfiguration? Perfecto!" sh muttered to her self as she pulled out the mentioned books. Until she reached the last one, where she pulled all of the books in the shelf down with it.

    "Whoops!"

Dixie's eyes widened, and she shouted "Crap!" before rushing to Ria Tia Smia's side, hurriedly collecting all of the books that were now scattered on the floor. Picking up another that said 'Transfiguration Animalis', she frowned, looking at the weird title. Dixie shrugged, and said "Eh, can't hurt to read this one!"

"Thanks!" Alex said as she finally came out of the rubble. "Lets get out of here! Before the librarian spots and kills us!" she added, illustrating it by slicing her throat with her hand.

She sighed as they reached their table, "What book is that?" she asked, curious at the weird book that Pyrix had picked up. Transfiguration Animalis.

Dixie shrugged again, and wiped some dust off of the cover. "Achooo!"
Dixie pratically heard an echo. Laughing a bit, she flipped open the cover, another dust cloud erupting from the pages. "Jeez, this book probably hasn't been opened for ages!"

"The lets do the great job and get our names written down in History!' Alex said as she too gave a sneeze. Geez! This book is ooooooooold!

"Wonder why it has not been opened in such a long time? Read what it says? Wait how would you do that?" Alex paused as she wiped a page. "Oh thats why I could not figure out anything!"

Laughing a bit, Dixie drew a smiley face in the dust with her finger, and then wiped off the whole page. Frowning now, she examined the page. "Hmm, it's really old-dang!! The pages are practically as yellow as a banana... Huh. This is weird, it's written in English, but it has stuff like 'thy' and 'tis' and 'evile'. Must be pretty old."
Peering at the words, Dixie tried to decipher the faint print.

"How the hell do we read the faint print? wait is it engraved?" Alex puased as she bent to check the fact. "Yes it is!" she said with new enthusiasm. "I guess we could figure out what is written then!" she said as she took out a scrap of parchment, "you got a pencil?"

Dixie grinned, excited, by their discovery. "Yeah, my brother sent me one a few weeks ago as some sort of joke-anyways, let me sharpen it, that way it'll be easier to rub and reveal the words." Dixie pulled out her pencil, and with her quills sharp end, poked at the wood, and after a minute, the lead was shown.
"You know, makes me wonder exactly what this book has. It could be dark magic..."

"Have you read the cover Pyrix? And anyways, if it would have been Dark Magic, it would have been in the Restricted section." But despite her words, Alex looked a bit doubtfully at the book, before shaking her head, It is a book! Alex relax!

"Would you like to do the honors?" she asked with a grin to Pyrix as she set the parchment on the page.

Dixie looked at Ria Tia Smia, wide eyed. "Dude, you have to UNCODE the text! If this book was so innocent, there wouldn't be a need to do that. Besides, you never know. There are hundreds of thousands of books in here, it would be very easy to miss one. And now..." Dixie paused, holding the pencil horizontally, "It's time for the moment of truth."
She began rubbing the parchment with the pencil lead.

Alex watched with baited breath as she watched the alphabets slowly appear on the parchment.

"What the - ?" she finally breathed out as the full message appeared.

"Its the acknowledgement." she said dumbly before realizing what had happened.

"The moment of truth? this is the acknowledgement! Next page!" she said as she fought another laughter attack unsuccessfully.

Dixie cracked up, her laughter echoing in the library. Unbelievable. THE AKNOWLEDGEMENTS?? Seriously??? Flipping to another page, Dixie sighed, and pushed her glasses up her nose. Placing the piece of parchment onto the page, Dixie began rubbing her pencil lead onto the parchment.
    Reading the page, she stopped.
    "Wha....."
