    Empty Classroom Empty Empty Classroom

Post by Guest Mon 19 Jul 2010, 00:58

    It seemed quiet. Too quiet.

Will crept into a random empty classroom on the fourth floor to do some immediate reading. He figured he'd spend his time studying until new lessons were to be announced.

Frowning at his Potions book, which that and the rest of his books were already well-read, he vaguely wished to visit Diagon Alley again and buy some more reading materials. He put that idea in his checklist in his head as he began to read.

The silence was truly daunting here in this school.

Alice was walking with a certain rhythmic tune to help her concentrate as she mumbled to herself trying to remember all the correct incantations for her Defense of the Dark Arts class as well as the main points made so far by her other class. This was part of the reason many of the people she had met avoided her was her habit of talking to herself since she was small. Funny isn't it how little some things change. She lifted her head up noticing she had walked into a classroom before noticing that she wasn't alone and was in fact a few feet away from someone she knew. She wondered if he had noticed her yet as he was paying what seemed to be more attention to his book.

Raven had wanted to find a seclueded spot so he could read the well worn Mythology book he made sure to pack. It was one of his favorite books and was nearly falling apart. He had meant to buy a new copy before boarding the train, but that plan kind of backfired on him. Looking in the class room he saw both Will and Alice there. He wondered what Alice was doing here. Will was obviously here to study and be away from his housemates. Leaving them to themselves he took a desk in the far corner, propping his feet up on the desk and opened his ratty book.

Rather surprised that his friends had arrived so early in the morning, Will flipped a page in his text, his eyes not leaving the letters.

"Quiet day so far, huh guys?" Aside from the purging, his entire common room had to be redone, forcing all the Ravenclaws to huddle outside the common room last night while Professor Williams completely went into OCD mode. He wondered if the loss of so many points caused his Head to behave so sporadically.

"Yeah, not many people are really up after the loss of points," Alice said letting out a breath to move her bangs from her eyes. She really needed to trim them again, she was tired of them stabbing her eyes as she walked around. She ran a hand through the front of her hair to puff them up a bit so she could see a bit easier. Better than before at least, she thought before finding a seat in a perfect triangle position from her friends. "How is Professor Williams holding up after the loss?", she asked wondering how well Professor Spelling was holding up as well. She was pretty sure that angry note wasn't the best sign for the Hufflepuffs.

"She completely locked us out of the common room last night," Will said lowly, turning another page. "Decided to go on a cleaning binge after Professor Green visited. Professors and students were arguing left and right about those points. Me? I freaked and nearly threw myself over the Astronomy tower. It was that bad."

He gave up trying to study the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane in favor of skimming the rest of the book. "She completely redid the entire common room after that. And her howler to us was just icing on the cake. Barely got any sleep last night."

Wincing, Raven sighed. His Head of House didn't give them howlers, but her icy stare was more than enough warning. "Yeah, Prof Green cleared out our Common Room as well. She didn't give us a howler but....she was still scary. It's always the quiet ones...."
He shook his head and turned the page in his book carefully so it didn't come out. It was time for him to try and ductape the binding again. Maybe he could find a spell to hold it together?

Alice's eye twitched having a pretty vivid imagination of Will losing it and jumping out of the Astronomy tower. She felt that Professor Spelling wasn't as mean as the other teachers, but it was still a bit unerving from seeing her go from sweet to mad. "Professor Spelling cleaned like crazy as well... she wasn't as bad as the rest of the Heads of House, but it was a bit unerving when she got mad." She shuddered hoping that there would be no one wanting to purposely upset Professor Spelling again.

Shutting his book and sitting properly in the seat, Raven looked at the other two. He wondered what their opinions were. "Hey, you think that the others will start dropping classes? I mean, we only need to classes to pass to become Second Years, right? I mean, with the Great Purge, as Will likes to call it, I'm pretty sure a lot of them are scared."

"I'm guessing they probably will, they all probably thought it was a giant fun house at the beginning and that there won't be work or punishment." Alice rested her chin onto her hand wondering how many students might end up leaving. She didn't honestly think that it was hopeless yet and was hoping on everyone actually reading the rules this time around.

Will hummed thoughtfully when Raven asked his question. That would be a toughy. "Logically speaking, two classes aren't really enough to be a full-blown wizard, but that's my opinion. You'd be a pretty poor wizard if all you wanted to pass was Astronomy and History of Magic."

"However," Will clicked his tongue. "I'm theorizing that students are either just completely exhausted after last night to wake up in the mornings, or are indeed just scared of getting into trouble. So long as they follow the rules, I don't see the problem of stepping out of the dorms."

Alice gave a long yawn her eyes tearing up a bit, she hadn't gotten much sleep thanks to all the issues of late. She wondered if she would get in trouble if she slept in the classroom as she rubbed her eyes, she didn't want to return the to dorms or common room just yet due to the eerie silence. She was always a bit paranoid of silence for no particular reason so she would avoid it as a small child, the habit still clung to her even after quite a few years. "Wonder how long it will take the Hufflepuffs to come out of hiding, majority are usually shy and this might have scared them to not come out of their rooms so much for a week or so."

Raven nodded. His House too had been holing up in their dorms. He cocked his head and shrugged. "Well, I for one wanted to put the whole lot of them in The Pit, but Prof Geen wouldn't let me." Nodding his head to Will, he said, "Wilma here also said that the Pit would be pretty full. I didn't care, but Prof did apparently. She's more forgiving then I am."

"It'd be so full, you might as well have called it a pool party if you tried," Will said dryly with a smirk. "Which is probably why your Head disagreed with that idea."

He did wonder how the Slytherin common room fared. Apparently, they had a similar retribution to them. Still, he would've paid galleons to see Raven yell at those involved.

Alice chuckled at this imagining a large group stuck together without any arm space in the pit as she wondered how many would be claustrophobic. She started imagining Raven crowd surfing over the Pit and she tried to stifle a laugh by covering her mouth with her hand making a strange snorting sound instead. "It would be very interesting to see it that packed though."

Raising his brow, Raven chuckled at Will's look and Alice's comment. He knew what the other boy was thinking and shook his head. Sobering he looked at Will. "Were you serious about taking a flying lesson off the Astronomy Tower without a broom? If you were, then obviously you deserve to wear your precious stupid hat."

Will grinned. "Well, I always wanted to try flying without a broom. I heard the Dark Lord did it easily." He then proceeded to roll his eyes at Raven's serious stare. Did he honestly believe that he'd commit suicide over points?

"If it's any consolation, I would've taken people with me. The whole going out with a she-bang." He joked.

Raven rolled his eyes at Will's sense of humor. Jumping onto his desk, he swung his legs as he thought. "So, I know that we just made some points, so Slytherin is out of the hole as well as Hufflepuff. Poor Wilma, your House still needs some more."
Maybe now that the furer died down, the more serious students could actually get work done and they can finally actually start making serious points and have a real compition for the House Cup. It certainly would be fun competing with the Ravenclaws.

Alice began spacing off wincing slightly at the thought of possibly hurting herself in flying lessons. She wasn't the best with heights especially not after she went on one of those muggle roller coasters a couple years back. I still wonder why father always loved those things..she thought. "Hm, I wonder who will actually win the House Cup at the end of the year though.", she said thoughtfully already imagining the end of her first year here.

"Really? I haven't noticed," Will was starting to try his best not to bother with counting points. It made him nearly delusional the last time he tried. "Like I keep saying, I don't care about points anymore. So long as my education isn't at stake, that's all that matters to me."

Raven looked at Will and openly smirked at him, arching a brow. "Oh, really? I saw your look before you tried to hide it, Wilma. You really are interested aren't you?"
He laughed and shrugged. "Don't believe me then, if you really don't care. So, when do you think we'll actually start flying lessons? I'm really not too keen on it, but seeing as we actually have to take that class...."

Alice let out a soft groan letting her head drop to the desk still not looking forward to flying lessons. She almost knew she was going to hurt herself of have something go horribly wrong and get in trouble for it. This was just her kind of luck she just hoped she could at least learn how to fly decently before she did something too bad. "I'm not exactly excited for it, but hopefully it starts soon so I can get my embarressment done and over with."

Will's eyebrow twitched, but that was as far as it went with the first topic. He comfortably settled with the flying subject.

"I suppose we have to take the class in order to try out for Quidditch next year," Will tossed his book onto the desk, unable to focus on it anymore. "Too bad really. I already know how to fly, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to just attend a session. You never know, you might learn something new."

Sympathizing with Alice, Raven nodded agreeing with her. "Tuth be told, I've never been on a broom."
He looked out the window and frowned. He wondered if the Professor in charge of their lessons would put up a net or something, so those like him and Alice would have safety of mind when they took to the air. It really was unfair for those that were inexperienced at flying.

Alice felt a small touch as something moved up her leg and onto her lap she looked down to see Lucifer her ferret holding a small piece of paper in his mouth. She reached down plucking the note from his mouth reading it quietly she crumpled it up.

"So Will, do you actually want to know the scores of the House Points?", she asked curiously watching him carefully for any sign that he might as Lucifer retreated to her sleeve in a white flash.
